Farming skill level somewhat affects the quality of crops, as does fertilizer. Try to at least put down basic fertilizer if you really want to get that bundle finished in year 1, but chances are you won't actually be getting the Greenhouse until about halfway through year 2 anyway unless you're a Wiki autist.

You can change levels in the mines super quickly by dicking around with the elevator. Naturally, each time you come back it gives you a new version of the floor.

This may be me being superstitious, but I think elevator floors intentionally don't have good drops. So elevator to stops with no rocks/monsters, and go down a floor, exit if it's shit, repeat.

Chests need to have about 2x as many slots (or at least five rows), because almost everything in this game has three quality levels and often it's desirable to hang onto all of them, fish being the biggest culprit. I have three chests for fish and shellfish (though I can also fit beach shells, coral, and crab pots/tackle/bait in the third).

Yeah, if I get rid of something like excess vegetables or fruit, usually I get rid of the silvers.

With fish though, you don't usually get enough of most of them to make lots of the related Cooking dishes, so I prefer to hang onto all three quality levels; also, there are more types of fish than anything else in the game other than minerals and artifacts.

I do have 40+ Sardines though, pretty nice. There again I have to keep three stacks of them because Dish o' the Sea is powerful.

I guess I could make all the dishes at once until I run out of ingredients, but then I worry I won't be able to finish some noticeboard quest. Also I'm not a Wiki whore and I don't have all recipes yet.
