Honestly, Tsukihime is one of the few VNs that would have been better as straight-up books. Every way in which it uses the medium (with the exception of the routes) is pretty bad. I think the greatest injustice here is Ciel's redesign. At least Arcueid kept her air intakes to some degree. Poor Ciel got her most notable feature (her parted bangs) taken away and now looks ultra generic as a result.
