Are tier 10 tanks a meme?

I'm on PS4, so not a lot of people (yet, at least) are throwing around gold rounds. I could get muh IS7 and maybe be a force to be reckoned with for a month or two before people start to catch onto silver-bought gold rounds, but after that, what? T10 is too expensive to run consistently without premium, so you have to run t5-9 tanks to make money to run your t10s, and XP on your t10s is a dead end unless you pay real dosh to convert it.

I'll research the IS7 (about 50k xp away) for the trophy, but if we have no strongholds or clan battles or whatever and I play randoms alone, should I bother getting a tier 10 at all? Also the silver is a lot, 6.1mil is 50% of my current balance after a month of playing.

I must be the only one who actually liked the chieftain in AW, no doubt it was worse than it's counterparts but I still enjoyed it.

As for in WoT if it entered in the same state as it entered the chinese server it would be over powered as hell, they say the reason it was delayed was because it's armor is shite but I don't believe that was the reason. If used the way it was designed to be used (hull down utilizing the 10 degrees of gun depression) the armor is fine, damn near impenetrable according to tanksGG.
