As a red, don't even bother climbing 2.0. Just shank his ankles for 3 health bars, dodging levin and comestion spam, until his 3 bars are gone and he starts to wander around to cast the rift vortex. If you try to climb, he'll just spam immolation and levin, not worth wasting the time.

As a new player, I started as a strider and immediately switched to assassin at level 10. Is my character fucked?

Not at all. You'll have a metric fuck ton of strength, just low health and defense. I'd say go and switch to warrior and get the bastion augment (warrior rank 1, you can buy it as soon as you switch). It'll add on some sorely needed defense until you get geared up.

Doing laundry for the week and going to go fight Grigs for the first time on my second alt. Wanted to get my characters to 46 before I went so my pawn can use the helmbarte daggers and dragons glaze, and my arisen the helmbarte daggers that I purified from level 2 weapons I sent over from my main, but I am a hair shy of 45. With the right mix of pawns, quite a bit. Playing a sorc is half about the spells, the other half about positioning. Especially in BBI, you'll need to abuse positioning to give yourself the best advantage. Climbing on ledges, statues, ruins, etc. so that melee enemies can't reach you.

On my sorc I have a warrior main pawn equipped with twin barbed nails. His job is just to do crowd control, keep enemies staggered and knocked down while I cast. I also tend to hire rangers and another red or blue depending on what I am fighting.

Don't forget, you can manually aim spells. So, you can cast maelstrom around corners, snipe long range with ingle to thin out groups of enemies, and manually aim gicel to hit weak points.

Anything, really. I'm a big proponent for 30 levels of strider pre-100 for every build. It has balanced strength/defense/magick/magick defense as well as decent health and good stamina gains. Even with curatives and augments, you can never have enough stamina.

If you want to break the game, you can always toss a bunch of warrior levels in there. Best health gains, and only one less strength per level than assassin. Couple high health and defense with the sanctuary augment from MK (defense and magick defense increase by 50% when your health is critical (30% or lower)) and you'll be nigh unkillable in end game gear.

Not that anon, but just wanted to let you know that classes have different growths pre 100 and post 100. After lvl 100 your stats grow very slowly and it doesn'treally matter what class you level as since most of your damage and defense will come from gear.

I am going to make my pawn a strider / range or some other yellow class pawns get and try my hardest to go warrior or fighter. I've never played a red or yellow class and I started hard mode.

I expect to bleed, and die, I've alread died twice in the tutorial. But its the only way to max bestiary. Pawns going to go 0-100 as a yellow for them gainz.

This was a really uneventful run, although Nephilim dodged an Eliminators charge attack by using the bonus height from her jump attack to go over the hammer, and the spell syncing between Lennox and Felicia was beautiful (especially double Fumination).

Both pawns did really well, I left the three of them to fend for themselves for the most part which was fun to watch, Nephilim was running about knocking people over while doing crazy damage (And dieing, give her some chest armour) while the sorcs charged spells. I wanted to get more pics but as I said this run was really uneventful, everything died way too quickly.

I'm releasing them now with BBI armour (although you may get rocks because I only recently swapped back from my alt)

So I'm a new player and just maxed out Strider, so I figured I'd switch to Assassin. Sadly all of the dagger moves I was using were lost in the switch, so I'm a bit at a loss of what skills to pick up to replace.

What would you guys recommend?

Get an Ur-Dragon or BBI L2 hybrid weapon gold rarified, and bring along Demon's Periapts (16+ if you really want to be safe). Pop 4 of them when the armor gets shredded and switch to your hybrid weapon.

Or get a Sorc/Mage pawn and occupy the LA's attention so that they can cast stuff at it.

Rusted weapons are nice as a ranged option since you can deliver it from long-range. It doesn't do a lot of damage, but that's not really the point; it's to make the monster go into slow-mo so you can have an easier time of climbing it and going to town on its weakspots, or just wrecking it while its reaction and movement speeds are sharply decreased.

Some people prefer it on pawns so they don't have to worry about switching weapons, but I like to be the primary Rusted Weapon holder since I can torpor stuff really quickly as either an Assassin or Strider, or pre-torpor Condemned Gorecyclops before I scale them, and I can also torpor multiple targets at once. But that's mostly a preference thing.

Just be sure to get at least 1 goldforged rusted weapon that you use a lot. The amount of shots it takes to inflict torpor on an enemy decreases pretty significantly with each upgrade beyond Dragonforged.

Why does Capcom hate Warriors so much?

What really helps is when you (and your pawn) can just lock down a whole group of enemies, allowing the hired pawns to attack from range/cast. It completely trivializes a lot of content until BBI.

Not terribly long, surprisingly. Finding the right facial features proved pretty straightforward.

Ashe mode will hold you for a while, but your pawns inclinations can shift over time. Case in point, my warrior pawn who was scather/mitigator ended up going scather/acquisitor after about 15 hours after using Ashe mode. Built up the RC and went seneschal mode, and his inclinations haven't shifted since, well over 40 hours of play time.
