Even the Predator one doesn't match with the actual theme of the skins it has.
The Predator skins were like a green tiger stripe that fades out while the USB key makes it look like the skins are a generic green camouflage with some kind of net over them.

You can change all of them, D, M, N, ans S, they'll still work with multiplayer. They also seem compatible with workshop- the files are accepted for brewing and upload, and work through the published folder- but that's still kind of hard to tell.

I don't blame him for not knowing, but he doesn't realize that support is by far the best dps for either boss. Support is awful during the waves but are very good for the bosses. You also only need 1 medic if your team is good for bosses. Otherwise he's pretty much right about everything.

Remove Nuke and make Demo fun to play.

Fuck me. If you want to classify anything as "DPS" it has to be sustainable. Firebug, Berserker, Support with AA-12, and even Commando have far better DPS than demo.

I think I'd prefer the suppression mechanic from KF2. When you're in danger (someone is firing on your position, an enemy tank is close by, your buddy just got opened up like a can of crushed tomatoes in the microwave) your vision goes blurry and your gun jumps around the screen.
If an MG is lighting you up and getting close, you're hard pressed to hit a man 5 meters away, let alone any reasonable distance

We've not had a meaningful update since December. Yes, there was a Christmas holiday, yes, there was a New Year's holiday. These things postponed development. I understand that.
However, that's still time without an update. These weapons will give us something fresh, even if it ain't much.

>A preview of what's to come
It may not be the full set, but these weapons will give us a better idea of what to expect from SS. Are these weapons useful in their own right? Or are they only supplementary in a team effort? Is the LAR effective enough to repel trash? Is the Xbow powerful enough to kill big guys? What can we expect from the finished SS based on these two weapons?
These are all questions which might get some answers.

This is somewhat related to the second point.
By getting these weapons out early, TW can see (with the players' help) if there need to be changes made. Do we need buffs for them? Do we need nerfs for them? Do they work as they should? Do they have too much power? Do they not have enough?

This, to me, is absolutely critical.
I remember very clearly when it was announced that Demo would come with Firebug, instead of SS. The Demos were laughing all day long.
A week after the update, they were laughing on the other side of their faces. Their perk was a mess. The balance was awful.

I can't have that with SS. Neither can TW.
Hopefully, any problems in these weapons could be spotted right away, and then corrected, improving the SS perk just a little more than what it would've been.

SS has a big reputation, what if it came out shit?. The old KF1 people who were keen for SS for ages are furious. What do they do?
They write/edit a review to say "TW never update, MTs in Early Access, balance is terrible, OH, AND NOW THEY RUINED SS".

Use your brains TW, don't fuck this one up. It might be your last chance.

It's not dead, but real challenge and fun doesn't really start until you get Hell on Earth difficulty WITH a few inhouse friends. Because people only play either Normal, where you can't even die with some knowledge or Hell on Earth where you get rekt without abusing overpowered weaponry or having a very deep knowledge on mechanics.

At Hard difficulty you can get away with any mistake you do most of the time. As for players it's filled with gumballs who weld all doors and rage everything in sight. Funny thing is they get away with any mistake they do compared to a high difficulty setting gameplay. You'd learn nothing by playing Hard but it's fun for a while.
At Suicidal, eh I dunno. Finding a Suicidal server is a bit rarer than others. It's for people who can't get into the Hell gameplay, or trolls who got kicked from all HoE servers you know already. So get ready for absurd team setups and noobs who abuse OP mechanics trying to be the most kill scorer of the server whilst trying to impress people with "skills" they have. Aside from Suicidal being somewhat easy because AI doesn't protect each other as much as a Hell on Earth game, it's really fun to troll these tryhards acting like a complete clueless newb.
At Hell on Earth, it's a complete hit or miss because there are trolls who act like a complete fool (Dwarfs?! Axe Sharp, you wouldn't see that coming), zerks who cause team wipes by deliberately pulling big targets in the middle of team or people who powerlevel'd their way to lvl6 and think they can play it without any knowledge. Let's not forget about people who are really stubborn about holding unenjoyable deadend funnel spots, welding a single door like an alltime job and broomcloset hold up points with doorzerks then pub games could be an "No Fun Allowed" land

I think you're right. It's like they don't want to actually playtest changes they make. Using win rate per difficulty on each boss is a very shallow way to adjust balance.

Watching and clearing the line between your Sharpshooter, Support and big targets preferably at small auto bursts.
Studying Gorefast hitboxes from different angles and ranges to decapitate them easier, (head height behind of neck)
decapping Husk and Sirens from afar (3 small accurate bursts from FNFAL like a total of 5-6 bullets or 2 offperk'd Lever-action headshots, SCAR works instead of FAL but recoil is high so effective range drops abit without giving pause between bursts),
Silencing Sirens (shoot when they nod down with high bullet damage rifles, or keep them under small burst focus fire with bullpup or M4, youtube must have vids about it)
Taking out 2nd Scrake with a flinch combo when required (4 small bursts to head from SCAR or FAL, "reload", switch to katana or chete, do a flinch hit, then unleash full mag SCAR/FAL to head)
You can kill Fleshpound but that either means you have to pull the 5 nade stack combo which can be lethal if you can't put a distance, or carry a M32 offperk by the help of team's Demo or changing perk for 1 wave. Whether you choose, FP is NOT your job to tackle unless it's about to hit someone, keep your distance from raged FP clear around and stand behind others. If you see it's about to go down then focus your attention on FP and try to time your nade throw as he started rage animation.

* Support is the offensive sweeper of the team, mostly it's about sweeping Sirens behind a big target that turned the corner. If your grenades got nullified by a Siren, you have no ground to hold against a raging FP.
* Piercing shotgun pellets will be enough to keep a Siren silenced for a lil' while. But it won't do shit about an juicy Husk
* Scrake speedkill technique almost always involve a melee weapon like Axe, Katana or Machete. Offperk M32 would do as well as you wish.
First step is going for a flinch hit then, crouch quickly in 2 seconds flinch frame and aim at the chin of Scrake with Hunting Shotgun, if you aimed right it will KO it
* Step1: 150 damage flinch in a single hit. Axe and Katana alter-fire swing at body will be enough. For chete it must be an alter swing AND headchop. Watch the chete swing animation, aim with the lower end sharp side curve of chete at face, pull to left if you're not sure. With all 3 weapons you are able to flinch it, carrying any of em would do. Katana and Axe widely preferred because an alter swing to body will flinch it.
* Step2: Quickly crouch, do NOT go down on iron-sights and point the right barrel of Hunting Shotgun under its chin, as you blast the double barrel altfire it should be OHKO it.

* FP speedkill is somewhat easier but you have to be careful about Sirens when engaging FPs that are turning the corner. As there might be a Siren just behind him. To summarize it's one nade toss to its feet, double barrel altfire to rage it on the nade THEN 2 more nades to create a nade stack as it's roaring. Three nades will be enough to kill a FP in HoE 5p, for 6p you need a "last touch" with a second double barrel blast or a 4th nade as it's going through rage animation.

I'm going to assume you already can use basic conversion utilities, because this will take forever if you don''t.

Now, figure out what sounds you want to replace. If you want to replace, say, a AK handling sound, you'll look for it in the AK12 bank. Shit like ambient sounds are harder to track down.
Either way, look in the .txts in Steam\steamapps\common\killingfloor2\KFGame\BrewedPC\WwiseAudio\Windows. They refer to the contents of the .bnk files of the same name. Only look for sound assets under "In Memory ID"- "Events" titles can be helpful, but aren't actual sounds and will be used later.

Copy the .bnk with the sound you want to change to the folder where you have bnkextr, and extract. You should get a mess of .wem files labelled sequentially. Copy everything that was extracted (EVERYTHING) to wherever you have ww2ogg, and convert them.

Now is the time to rename all your files. Even if you have 250 of them- not uncommon for a more complex bank- you'll need most to all to have a decent soundpack. This is why shorter is an easier place to start.
Anyways, give the files a listen while cross referencing them in the .txt that corresponds to the .bnk. You should find that they were more or less extracted sequentially. Rename these files so you know what they are- I suggest just using TWI's names from the .txt- they're clear enough. Note some random sounds didn't make it in- they are either pure engine sounds or found in other loaded banks. Ignore them for now, we'll get by without them.
Once the naming fun is done, it's time to use Audacity! Import all the sounds, then export multiple in format WAV (Microsoft) 16 Bit Signed PCM. Now you have something WWise can use. Now's a good time to do the same to any sounds you want to add (hentai girl moans are a good choice). This is also where you add any effects to the sounds, except volume modifiers.

Assault Rifles have different recoil patterns at semi/full-auto hipfire, semi/full-auto iron-sight. Look into it. Crouch to mitigate recoil further for longer ranges.

Carry a sidearm like a pistol (MK23 or Handcannon; NEVER get Flares) or Lever-action against Husks. However you'll need help about meatshielded Sirens and Husks at long range when you need to engage a big target by yourself. If anything, Demolition must be involved to nuke such scattered ranged threats and big targets within' your help.
As for Flares, if you get Flares you'll eventually put some Scrake on fire if you are not paying attention enough. Unless you have a firebarf or a very good sharp who can finish Scrakes that are lit, never attempt anything about fire damage. Any DoT including medic heal nades and bloats that exploded on specimen will cancel their flinch for a good few seconds. You wouldn't want that.

It's WWise time. Open it up, start a new project. Don't import any factory assets, they're wasted memory. Note the filepath it will save to.
In the 'Project' tab, hit "import files". Select all the nice, renamed .wavs you made. You'll see them under the 'Audio' tab. Now, under 'Project', click project settings, source settigs tab, then set Default Conversion Settings to "Vorbis High". Go back to the 'Project' tab on the toolbar and select 'Convert All Audio Files'. This might make your life easier later. Wwise should take a few seconds to do this for a lot of files.

Anyways, if you do have a bunch of files, it's time to put them into groups. TWI makes some dynamic .bnks by making packages that will choose appropriate or random sounds to play in different situations. So when that funpound takes a swing at you, it can make any of 5 sounds. To replicate this, right click "Default Work Unit", tab under "New Child". You'll see a bunch of options for containers. I'm not going to explain these to you, it'd take all day- refer to Audiokinetic's online documentation. The one you'll use most is "Random Container"- as the name suggests, every time it is referenced it selects a n asset at random to play.

Also, when I went to check the news about this game, the first thing I see is Tripwire announcing SS weapons as off-perk for the next update, with the perk itself not coming until the next update after that. So we want to group these hundreds of files together. Look at that ever-handy .txt for the bnk you're modifying. Remember those events? We're replicating those. So if the first event in the .bnk is "Play_WEP_SA_1858_Fire_DryFire", make a random container "WEP_SA_1858_Fire_DryFire", then edit it to include all instances of the 1858 dry firing. Do this for every event, being sure to include your custom sound FX where applicable. You shouldn't have sound files left over after this process. If there are containers that would only contain single files, don't bother with a container- the container logic is more wasted memory that will have to be run by the CPU when the soundbank is constructed in game.

Anyways, we have all the containers built- mostly random, some like footsteps switched if you want to be cool. Maybe a sequence or blend container if you know what you're doing. But the game can't use the files in this format. It needs a new logic, embedded in the .bnk, to tell it what to do with all these containers and assets. We'll make our work accessible in the next post.

To build the logic, we'll need to make a soundbank file. In Wwise, go to the
'Layouts" tab,. then select "Sounbanks". Tab over to 'Soundbanks' in the Project Explorer, then right click the default work unit. new Child, Sounbank. Name it whatever, we're renaming it later. Don't title the file the same thing as the final file, it'll only make headacehes.
OK, so the best way to build that logic is to use the cues the engine provides us with already- So back to the .txt! It contains a roadmap for everything the engine will ask for in a game. So when you look at "Play_WEP_SA_1858_Fire_DryFire", we know we need an event that will play that neat little container for the dry fire sounds we have. Click the soundbank, then right-click the Event Viewer. Click New Event, and in this case "Play". Use the exact title used in the .txt, or else the engine can't use it. When created, it should have the exact same event ID as in the .txt- if it doesn't you fucked the title up. Once that's sorted, you have to assign the event an asset to work on. So for our "Play_WEP_SA_1858_Fire_DryFire" event, click "Browse " and select our dry fire package.I highly recommend having only one asset per event. Since the dry fire assets are discrete, non-loop sounds, we don't need to add extra events, like Stops.
Keep going with the previous method, making new events for each entry in the .txt. Most events are play or stop, which are pretty self explanatory.

OK, now we've built the SFX, containers, and event scripting. Now we need to set it so it doesn't kill performance. Go to the "Sharesets" tab, in the Project Explorer. Anyways, go back to the soundbanks tab, right click on the soundbank editor, and click "generate soundbank". Back up your old, original .bnk file, and rename your new file with the original .bnk name so yours is the one referenced by the engine in-game. Open the game and test! But we're not done yet. Not by a long shot.

If your shit works right, you'll notice the volumes are FUCKED. the way we've gone is enough for first person sounds, but makes 3rd person sounds ear shatteringly- loud.
"But anon, how do I fix this?" you ask. I'll tell you. It's the worst part of the .bnk experience.
Go back to Wwise, sounbank layout, and select "Attenuation". New child, new attenuation. This attenuation will modify the volume of the sound over distance for you. ,It should give you this deceptively simple line graph and "maximum distance" box- pic related, the one that more or less works for most Husk sounds. Use a default attenuation as a test unit- I guarantee you you'll want to tweak this shit. Even a basic .bnk takes plenty of testing.

Hans is actually a character who's LE EVIL NAZI SCIENTIST MAN but we really know nothing about him or how and why he is with horizine.

We know hans is the original birthfather of the gorefast zed or at least designed it.

Brood actually pointed out that the statues in han's garden were the same ones from the RO2 game from that stalingrad map so there is some form of proof that hans was definitely in stalingrad and returned there for a reason to get some memorabilia. But why would a scientist be on the battlefield when chances are if he was actually a really GOOD scientist they would rather have him put his talents in the lab room making weapons.

Its very possible that hans isn't even really a scientist but more of an engineer. Its possible he worked on tank maintenance and shit or something on the battlefield. Because if he was more of an engineer I could definitely see it possible he would be the creator of the flesh-pound design. Plus that suit machine hans wears seems more like an engineer design rather then a scientist type thing. But that all collides with what we see him do which is use toxins like nerve gas which is definitely more of a scientist type thing. It also raises the question how is he still alive at his age, we do see that hans doesn't care for the clones like the patty does so it would be weird to assume he also creates them.

I like to think that maybe Hans designed the zeds in abilities and the diffrent types of uses they could of had on the battle field. I mean the zeds were designed to be a type of army, who better to have design soldiers then a WW2 nazi vet himself maybe.

There is a lot that could be done about hans but from what tripwire tells us about him makes it seem super shallow.

Anyways, once you have your testing attenuation, you're going to go back to the Audio tab and apply it to you audio assets that you want to fall off over distance (read- all of them probably). Select them, right click multi-edit, and under positioning, look for positioning type. Select 3D. Under 3D, select the attenuation you created. You can also make custom attenuation for each sound.
So, once you have the new attenuation applied, generate a new soundbank. Replace your old testing one, then try the game out again. You probably can't hear it for shit. Your attenuation was bad. Mix it up by moving the line on the graph up at the end. This graph represents how much of the sound gets through to the player at an arbitrary distance, with max distance defined by the box on the bottom (default:100). You'll figure it out.
Just keep making new attenuation and adding them to the bank, testing them out. Shit takes forever. It's awful. No one's making you do this so don't whine.
Once you have that dialed in, the worst is over. You can edit volume in the "Master Volume Bus under the edit tab of each sound asset. Remember- like attenuation, small changes here are huge in-game.

Anyways, some tips.
Yes, you always have to rebuild entire soundbanks. Each package is an all-or-nothing sort of deal, or your bank will have random times where it's just silent.

Yes, proper conversion settings are essential. There is a max size for your soundbanks, and this will all be run in real time by the end user's computer. Be nice and make it as small as possible.

You can't exceed 200 sound assets on the WWise free license. Be prepared to trim it down to make it work with the software.

Game Parameters refer mostly to anything under the sharesets tab. Mostly attenuation. If you followed my directions, you don't have to mess with em much.

Switch sets and Switch containers are hard.

Watch all the audiokinetic Wwise tutorials on youtube, and read their documentation. Shit is HANDY.

I'd rather they just do the following:

For example, a Berserker would get a damage bonus with all his perk weapons (both melee and VLAD/Eviscerator) but his perk bonus also applies for all melee weapons, meaning he also benefits from the katana and eventually the rest of MA's weapons.
Likewise, perks with a category-specific bonus still get them. A Commando gets his 25% damage bonus both with his on-perk weapons and the Medic Assault Rifle.
The idea being to encourage more diversity and giving players more options. A Support might want to use the Medic Shotgun for decent ranged healing, etc.

Medic's current perk tree is the general idea, although poorly executed currently.
Basically have a perk that makes you more efficient (more damage, elite reloads, bigger magazines, stuff like that) and the other is an alternative for team support (supplier, armor repair, knockdown, etc.) so that you can either make the game "harder" by making yourself weaker or make the whole team stronger.
The hardest part would be making perks that are equally strong, and it would be pretty hard to discourage people from just being selfish dicks if given the choice.
It would still be more interesting than the current "here's a terrible perk, here's a perk that's the best thing since the resurrection of Jesus, now choose wisely" system TW has in place.

Use that opportunity to work on your iron sight and hipfire accuracy. You won't have enough enemies on Normal to compensate for recoil and chain headshots anyway. Try buying Lever-action on every perk you play offperk'd. It's a pretty solid rifle to begin with, and doing LaR combos at low difficulties as a Sharp ain't hard as Hell on Earth.
I know I said, it's the hardest combo rifle a Sharp can use (because of unique recoil pattern) but it doesn't change the fact that it's a solid weapon and a good teacher.

Small salt at Commando
Global reload bonus allows you to use fast damage burst weapons offperk'd and still can fend off trash whenever you want. If you wanna try different things, consider the listed weapons offperk'd on mando by pairing it with a good Assault/Battle rifle;

Could you increase the volume for the shell impacts against all materials. Each ejected shell (shotgun, 40mm, 5.56) has a sound for bouncing against various materials but they're almost impossible to hear in game, much less in combat

Would it be possible to boost the volume of these like 4-5 times their original volume to give it extra kick?

Why is killing a 6P HoE Scrake as support such a hassle?
Baiting an opening and sweeping in for an easy headshot is easy but the randomness of its followup attacks screws me over way to often. Either I get the spinattack, shredding a good chunk of my armor / hp till I get out of its range, leaving me slow as fuck thanks to tripwires great design choices - so my chances of sprinting away his next homing attack is rather slim.

This game obviously won't be out of Early Access by mid April, marking the one year milestone for KF2. When do you think they'll finally be done with all the perks and other features and be able to call it released?

My bet is on late September/Early October. I'm thinking we'll get a small update with LAR and crossbow by the end of March, while SS releases in April. Martial Artist will come around three months later in July, along with more features that dev time was wasted on. Two months later in September we'll finally get our hands on SWAT, celebrating the completion of the game 9 months late.

I really really hope that pvp is treated like a red-headed stepchild and nobody touches it or develops around it. Just one of those "here because we can" type deals. But I'm sure it won't happen. For someone reason people are obsessed with pvp so they can prove how much "better" they are than other people. One of the reasons I liked Killing Floor was because it focused on co-op pvp and was a FPS which are two of my preferred methods of playing. Now they're shitting all over at least one aspect that made the series interesting to me.

From what I recall:

Support killed himself pretty much instantly by unloading his AA12 point blank on Hans while the zerks took time swapping tank roles while the other healed up.
The Firebug got himself killed shortly after the second phase for the same reasons.
One Berserker took too much damage too fast and didn't try to use knockback to save himself.
One Medic fell shortly after as he was keeping the other zerk alive but since he just died the medic was targeted next.
Then there was me and the zerk left, and I was trying my best to just heal him and got too cocky when Hans switched targets to me and I didn't have time to pull out my knife.
So then the poor zerk was left to kite Hans for 30 minutes, though luckily he was on his last phase by then.

Well anons, TWI's handling of KF2 might have been a total Trump of a joke, however TWI hasn't delayed a completely finished critical update for 6 months due to "Legal issues" which Evolve did about two weeks ago.

Imagine if Sharpshooter and Swat were completely done along with a support and demo rework and TWI delayed the release of it for 6 months due to legal issues arising from the master server hosting contract.
That's what Evolve just did. They literally pulled the plug on what little life support was left.

Completely finished and quality checked update that was compiled and ready to be sent to valve/sony/microsoft for distribution.

I meant "killed himself" in the sense that, yes, he was unloading his AA12, but he made absolutely no effort to not die once Hans targeted him.
I'm almost 100% sure everyone in the server besides me and the zerk waited for the full 30 minutes just to get the cheevo for the map. I stayed just to see him beat it.

I doubt his melee alone killed you because you can clearly see the health bar tick twice, first from 130 to 70 then to 0.
So either friendly fire was enabled and someone shot an RPG or landed a grenade near you or he bugged out and somehow fired a missile at the same time as his melee attack.

This infuriates me like no other, I can understand the falloff being that short for the boomstick since its meant to be a weapon that's built for enemies at hugging reach, but the others don't deserve that sort of treatment.
SG500 and M4 should be 10-14 meters at least, and AA12 should be 20-25m since its meant to be a 'medium range' weapon.

Demo can at least be niche tier, I appreciate a good demo when zerkin and a fleshpounds strolling up, one of the overlooked things with a demo is when they do appear and sirens are denying the teams explosives, they can just kill them in the explosive aftermath on the fleshie. Plus nuke is good to even disintegrate a scrake when aimed right. He just needs a bit more to be mando tier balanced.

Support is a dying battle though at this point, so many flaws that need to be fixed but we know they wont all be done at once.

Level-based ammo increases are retarded and should be removed from the game.
Either compensate by giving demo a bigger perk damage boost or just give him the "additional" ammo by default. At the very least make it a perk instead.
Gimping how much base ammo you carry so you can earn "more" by leveling is retarded. Imagine if Berserker could only get access to each new weapon tier every 5 levels.
