I want to say pre six, it's a skill matchup.
Since Zed can safely farm and harass you literally forever while you're limited by your mana pool and the fact that W does terrible damage until rank 3. But all you have to do really is don't feed AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA and eventually you'll scale past him since your ult negates his but still does damage. If he can't properly escape you then Zed is just another squishy target, especially after some armor pen.

The point of MR/lvl is to make melee champs not so weak to being bursted down and easily finished off by AP champions, maokai and yasuo both have additional ways to mitigate that already, and they don't lose out on anything by using them for that purpose (unlike say naut, who could mitigate the damage with his shield, but then he'd not get the damage that comes with the shield)

A character like Shyvana or other devourer junglers are a little too strong they feel in that they are a ticking time bomb. So they roll out a patch and nerf the devourer item a little bit, a slap on the wrist. On top of this, they shaft Shyvana's kit across the board as well. For what purpose?

I'm not saying shyvana couldn't have used some nerfs, but not see how the devourer change affected her first and then see if additional measures were needed?

It seems the same like when they nerf a champ's base damage AND scaling on abilities and surprise, they turn out shit afterwards. Why not just nerf one or the other, see how it plays out, and then reassess next patch? Why must they go to the extreme?

Is this not just terrible game design? This seems like fundamental shit to me.

No amount of number tweaks can make overloaded kits balanced. Prime example for this is Kassadin who to this day is one of the most cancerous champions in the game even after his damage got nerfed multiple times and his blink range cut almost in half.
Echo's ult and his AoE shield+stun are enough to make him overpowered even if the rest of his kit was useless, which it isn't.
