Barely any of my sims live in their own houses any more.

They all live in small apartments, dress in white suits and sunglasses, drive retro muscle and sports cars, and go to neon-soaked strip clubs and dingy basement bars in the night.

The worst part is that only one of my neighbourhoods is in Miami.

I'm white, and I only make other races if it makes sense for the location and setting.

My Miami hood has a lot of Hispanics and a few blacks, but the story is that the town is actually on the Central Florida coast, but Miami now takes up most of Florida's Atlantic coastline, which is why whites are even present. It's also in the setting that Miami's growth almost caused a Confederate civil war.

My Nevada hood is mostly Hispanic, due to it being in southern Nevada, and being a territory of an independent California by the time my stories take place. Pic related.

It's because I can't make other races and have them look like the race they're supposed to be. I sometimes make black sims and succeed, but it takes a while. I tried to make Asians, that didn't work out. I wouldn't know where to start with Hispanic looking sims or Indian.
This is all TS3, I'm sure it would be easier with TS4 since they have presets for everything, but I don't play TS4.

Is there a custom Sims 3 world similar in style to Isla Paradiso but a little less buggy? Even with Ellacharm's fixes I'm seeing pathing problems everywhere and I'm worried my save file will get slower and slower unless I find a less broken island paradise world.

Currently have both games open. I always take hair off sims when I'm trying to capture a likeness, real or otherwise. My starting point was a sim of Zhang Ziyi I had sitting around my sim bin. It helps cover the lack of ethnicity presets in TS3.

Her TS4 equivalent is above. I don't think I'm half done yet. Maybe a third.

Man. The effort some people put into their Sims is staggering.

TS4 Erika was birthed ingame. Her features are pretty messed up if you look closely enough, notably her eyes being really far out and high up compared to ideal. She really is the sum of her flaws though. Put glasses and hair on and she looks great.

Update. Body needs work, but that's easier to do when a sim is nude. I'll do that once I have her ingame.

So here's a difficult question to ask.

When making an apartment complex, how would I go about it? Do I make it sort of like a dorm, where it's a long set of smaller rooms (Maximum of 8 cause vanilla limits) that I'd somehow expect the NPC's to pick and claim?

Or do I make tall almost skyscraper-esque buildings with Basically 1-2 homes each floor and hope they claim it properly?

I might need an example if anyone has one.

That's the way I'd go about it, but I didn't realize it's doable.

The way EA apartments are done is non playable apartments are big empty rooms that have a door to the public space. And they're blacked out, but even if they weren't, there would be nothing there. That's the only way you can actually have the ring ring and sim comes out.
I know that Uni patch brought something different like roommate system, are you trying to utilize that rather than Late Night's apartments?

Because roommates live in the same space as you do, as far as I know. The only way to make apartments with those is to lock the doors.

And you still have to lock the doors. At least you had to back when I used that mod. They won't claim anything. I don't think other sims in uni claim anything either, they just go to sleep to a bed that's free and it gets marked as theirs, that's the only thing they "claim". Room isn't theirs.

That many EPs has only caused stuttering for me. I did use a 4gb RAM patch for it when I played it, but it was still slow and I have 16GB of RAM and everything else more than enough to play it. It's just a terribly optimized game and I've given up on it.

Sounds like an issue with either your RAM or mobo, or something else, not the game. I had random crashes on my system not too long ago that I initially thought was just the video card until I realized the entire computer went unresponsive when it happened, and that was independent of what application was running; swapped the mobo and replaced the video card just to be safe since they were both in the 30-day return window, and not a single crash anywhere since.

Increase nose mass, decrease nose definition, japanese people don't have defined noses like that.
Maybe don't rotate his eyes but rather raise the outer bit.
Perhaps the jaw is too strong as well, make that smaller, chin as well.
Don't pick the reddish skin color. That's my advice.

I'm no expert on Japanese, but he doesn't even look Asian other than you clearly trying to do Asian eyes and not succeeding.

I think eyeshadow would help a lot because the thing with Asian eyes is that they don't tend to have double eyelids. There's eye socket height so maybe you can try lowering that slider as well, not sure if it will help

Improve how? Jaw needs to be wider at least slightly, ears need to be higher and not stick out so much, mouth is too pouty, nose is a bit too thin, eyes looks oddly shaped, eyebrows are fine for a serious person otherwise serial killer tier and his fore/head looks kinda like a dick. Neck either needs to be thinner or body needs to be wider/more muscle mass. Beard is fine if you're going for that look otherwise try clean shaven with a large jaw. Just my opinion though...

I know the whole 4 vs. 3 thing is overdone to death, but I honestly think both are unimpressive as Sims games in their current state. They took advantage of being the top life simulation game on the market and barely even tried while milking their regular buyers. I've put in the highest quality textures and it gets reduced to lower quality in the game even on Ultra settings with compression (which is apparently only for the face?) disabled. That's probably just how the game works, though Keanu has a lower standard than some other creators and, like most Tumblr creators, has minimal experience and discipline with the tools used to create the content.
