Occasionally, though given the origins of this general it's still rather skewed towards certain subjects and people're limited by console and taste - don't have a PS4 or Vita so I can't comment on the recent EDF and Ys games that aren't on PC. Is it possible to end up with different heroines? If so, is it like Rune Factory or Persona where you have to constantly talk and spend time with them and ignore the other heroines, or is it an end-game decision like "Okay, who makes my dick the hardest?" Does it carry over to Cold Steel II or does it ignore your choice?

You can pick a dance partner near the end and as far as I know, who you can pick is determined by Link exp and MAYBE some choices near the end.

So it's a mix of both choices I think.

I'm not sure, but you might get some unique dialogue in CS II depending on who you danced with.

Alas, I'm afraid it's just happy happenstance. I've had that one rattling around the folders for years, and though I looked briefly through the thread it happened to be the most calling picture, as I was shooting for something HM-y since the last thread was PPlC themed and the one before that Ys and the one before the MGQ edition was either RF or SOS.

They are good and all, but right now my best pet heals fire units in the delirium lava cave because it too shoots fire. Could I mount it and absorb the fire damage?

I can't bring my waifu or any other people I sometimes bring with me because they are in an event, and I can't do the event because Doug is being a shithead depressed asshat and won't move for shit.

If by pets you mean recruited monsters, they run the gamut from trash to OP juggernauts. Boss monsters are very stronk.

It kinda' depends on just what you nab and how much you buff it with daily gifts and food. Some of the bosses you can tame can just ruin shit like you wouldn't believe, rank and file critters not so much though they can be a nice distraction. Octopirate in particular just MURDERIZES critters if you're riding it and use its spray attack, though it's also a late-game monster.

IIRC monsters can divert a chunk of the damage but you still get hit with a bit of it, and any AoE stuff or status ailments will nail you as normal. And if nothing else you need a crapload of them (50, technically) for one of the last requests so it doesn't hurt to try and grab some from each area as you go on.

Upgrade your crap. It's infinitely more effective than actually crafting stuff. Food (which includes crops) are better than mats and grass as far as upgrading goes. Seeds might count in that category. Then sell the upgraded thing in your shop for dosh and happy merchant xp.
Also, I think the things Raven sells changes every day. Same thing with Arthur.

They can be really great. Go get Ambrosia, she will reck, and you can ride her. Remember that if you feed pets mats, they get a permanent boost that is the same as if you were upgrading gear (though you can only do it once a day). You can eventually get a pet that is immune to all status effects and absorbs all elemental damage. Also, they gain levels even in the barn, so that's nice.

Yah, the base price automatically rises per level. I think lvl 10 items are 2x the base price of the lvl 1 item. Also, if you sell stuff in the shop (as opposed to shipping it) the bottom sell price increases by the price of the items used to upgrade it. (I say bottom sell price because there is a multiplier (RNG I think, like everything else in the game) based on your happy merchant level, and you also get abilities as you level it up that can increase the money you get). You can eventually get bs like pic related.

Since RF3 didn't really have the RNG dependency that RF4 has or the extortionate rates Jones charges, I never even tried soft resetting in 3.

I might just replay RF4, it's been awhile. There's SDV now too.

I really don't know what compelled me to try RF4. I remember being curious about the genre, but very reluctant. I'm glad I did, though... planning, fertilizing, planting, watering, shipping and all that were far more involving and satisfying than I ever would have thought.

I'd say that's bleedoff from her outfit filling the void left by her hair's very faint coloration: definately creamy, though maybe more of a *very* pale almond or apricot if colors have to be given. Her eyes are more of a gunmetal grey, though, which is just as well given how suited they are for cutting through bollocks with but a glance.

Which is wrong as heck, as Pico gets an entire scene in Dolce's marriage explaining about why Dolce is so incredibly important to her to the point of obsession. She'd been dead and hanging around town for hundreds of years before Dolce was born, to the point where she couldn't even remember how she died in the first place. Dolce was literally the first thing she had ever felt after all that time, and she got hooked and hooked bad, thus forcing herself on the tyke as adopted sibling.

Another reason why this is false is because Marionetta was her own person, fixated on keeping people who are close to her around forever by painting them. Her ghost / doll she haunted was the monster that carried on her name before Dolce and Pico went there to "confront" it.

The Ghost Ray is also probably the insane person who killed her, as written in the diary you can come across the first time you go in to rescue Dolce. The murder is mentioned, then the ink turns red as they get increasingly unhinged - the only area it spawns in Obsidian Manor is, fittingly enough, the hall right outside the boss chamber that Marionetta resides in.

The only mystery really left is why Dolly's ears are pointy

Y'know, an interesting and lewd implication bubbled up after last night's little Pico x Dolce history talk: ghosts are by and large incorporeal, at most only being able to interact with objects for a short time like poltergeists. Dolce mentions as such during one of her daily conversations, that Pico basically memorizes any outfit Dolce makes for her and changes her appearance accordingly since she can't actually wear it directly. And if she can't wear an outfit Dolce makes for her, to that end she probably can't touch Dolce's outfit, either, since Dolce basically made it as well.

No wonder Pico's such a little sex maniac and Dolce is annoyed with her so: literally all of Pico's physical interactions with Dolce are her phasing through Dolce's clothes and copping a feel, in a manner of speaking.

This reminds me of my hope that some bachelorettes in future titles will be more asserting about pursuing marriage (or in a timely manner, as opposed to the long ordeil as I've heard it from SoS). Rune Factory 4 did it pretty well with Xiao Pai, but both Forte and Dolce could've made it work given how their events go: Forte as the act of pledging herself to you as your protector, Dolce as that last act of really letting her true feelings through and allowing herself to get well and truly close to other people.

Yeah, i agree with you! I really liked how immersive RF4 was, but i would really like to see something like this in future titles. An idea would be that, depending on your actions, different girls would start to talk to you, making gifts or something. A lot of HM games feel really stale, so a little optimization in the direction of RF4 would do the trick. What do you think?

It would be interesting, but it'd also have to be carefully tuned such that the player still has a sense of control about what's going on: Someone who isn't really interested in Amber from RF4 or Popuri from the more central HM games, for example, might not be comfortable with them advancing the relationship on their own because the player tripped certain conditions during earlier events, perhaps because the necessary choices were the nicer/right things to do. Mutual reciprocations of escalation, with each feeding into the other, eventually hitting a tipping point (ie, the marriage event) if the chain is long enough.

Though another element to be considered is that some people are just not the type to take that last step of their own accord and need that nudge from the player. Xiao Pai, Dolce and Forte are certainly of the type to go for it, but Clorica's whole marriage event is about her learning she can't control everything in their relationship (though it could be framed as that she's got your ring ready and she's just waiting for hers, thus a mutual decision of engagement); Margaret, though her event's about finally getting over loss and the potential thereof, gets flustered and overwhelmed by extreme openness and needs a partner's emotional steadiness for support; and Amber...well, it's debatable just how well she really understands the implications of marriage before you pop the question.

Use fertilizer on them. Since you have only a limited amount of fertilizer, plant a separate plot as seed stock and fertilize that one. After harvesting that plot, convert them back to seeds. The star rank carries over when you convert them.
