What do I build for a Mage/Sorcerer?

Am I going into Sorc for dmg mods then run a healer/buffer mage? I enjoy support but I am afraid I will miss out on some wizard fun.

I also am unsure what class is best at "tanking". I have my pawn set to fighter and kinda just picking moves that sound cool? Working so far but I am not sure what I am doing.

Unfortunately there is really no good reason for a player to stay mage for long. It's just far better to go sorc and be the big damage caster. Mage pawns are good for a supportive style, but even then all they really have over sorcs is the anodyne line of spells and significantly inferior damage spells.

I wouldn't really say tanks in the usual sense are a thing, but fighter and warrior pawns will soak the most damage and are relatively good at tying up multiple enemies without having to sit and cast.

Fighters have more mitigation as well as a shield and some amazing specials in late vocation ranks, warriors have more HP (but are squishier overall), generally higher damage and REALLY STRONG stagger/knockdown.

I would say that Severance:Blade of Darkness has better close quarters combat but it is and action RPG with more of the action.The spell system in DD is not perfect either and could be expanded to include some features of other games like custom spells and spells with a bigger variety of effects.Right now the spells selection is DS tier and this is far far far away from good.

How do I make assassin more enjoyable to play as?
It mostly seems like a less fun strider, with optional sword.
Unless there are some really good skills to get in the last two vocation, I don't see the reason to play as it other than stat gains.

Is there a reason whenever i do thevlost and found quest, i get atick into an infinite load screen? I get to the wirchwood and enter what i assume is a cutscene and start loading, but the load screen is infinite.

Just want to say the anon who made those scripts which include Sword/Bow gameplay and Mage gameplay, as well as including menu navigation is a saint.

It's made KB+M much more enjoyable. I rebound XButton1 to be dodge roll and XButton2 to be strong attack. Unless if I was missing something on the native script dodge rolling was iffy with a dumpy keyboard but otherwise 10/10 scripts my friend

You are better off going assassin or warrior fully. You would lose out on 90-190 magic but gain 270-560 strength. Or you could go sorcerer and miss out on only 0-100 strength and get 180-380 magic and lose a shit ton on health as well.

What I'm running for sorcerer is:

1-10 Mage
11-15 Warrior
16-85 Ranger
86-200 Sorcerer

The end result is just over 4000 base stamina, 3500-ish base HP, 711 magic and 453 strength. You want strength because the three top-tier elemental spells (Bolide, Gicel, Fulmination) all scale with physical in addition to magic. You'll also be a pretty competent Magic Knight or Magic Archer.

Level 50 Utilitarian/Challenger mage with an upgraded rusted staff. Torpors, then grapnels and shoots holy focused bolts. Needs bestiary knowledge to be smarter about her debuffs.

So Magic archer, what am I missing here? The sixfold feels weak as fuck, the explosive one is nice on a drakes' heart when you hit it with a dagger I guess but otherwise the whole class feels really fucking weak and is eating stamina like there's no tomorrow.

Pommel bash can be quickly repeated and like that it's stun effect works on big enemies too.

exodus slash is really cool though because you can use it in reverse, meaning you step forward, and can then continue attacking. Also you can jump cancel it after the 2nd hit for more freedoms.

To play an effective Mystic Knight should I be leveling as Sorcerer for the magic stat gains?

I don't care about minmaxing completely, but up to level 25 so far I've mainly been playing Strider, Assassin, and Warrior so I imagine my magick is a bit low. Dunno if a str focused MK is any good

Honestly, I understand comparing it for BBI alone. That's pretty much the only part of the game that has a remotely Souls vibe.

If you wanted to make a stretch, you could compare them for both having rather bleak plots involving repetition and inevitability as well.

I never know what to bring in BBI, to the point I might just swap from Mystic Knight while I'm there.

Playing as a MK without a buff pawn, I've been running the Holy enchant for my shield and the Ice Enchant for weapons (I hear Ice > Fire in BBI, but I'm not too far in yet).

Holy's usually a pretty safe bet, though. Shit's usually either weak to it, or takes normal damage from it. So it's either doing tons of damage, or doing damage and healing you.

So, I'm a magick Archer, and I'm in BBI on Hard mode.

I've killed the dark bishop with a great deal of difficulty. I had to cheese the first Gorecyclopse by grapping it, knocking its helmet off, and filling it full of sixfolds from the railways above it.

Now I've come to a room with two gorecyclopses, undead sorcerers who one-shot me, and harpies basically make the room annoying as fuck. Aaaand the room is falling apart. Oh, and death is in the room right next door.

I barely do any damage to death, the gorecyclopses, or the harpies. I'm using Grig's knives and magick bow, and I'm level 85. Should I really only be doing pixels of damage to death and only a little more to the Gorecyclpses? I've heard the first one was stronger than normal ones, but still.

Oh and fuck cursed dragons. I get OHKO and immolate barely does any damage.

So this very day, I cannot fathom why Capcom looked at the myriad flying enemies in DD, looked at Warrior's lack of secondary/ranged option, looked at Sorcerer, and thought it was okay.

don't use immolate. Use magick rebalancer and then Explosive Rivet. Stick some rivets in the dragon's chest, tap it. He'll go down and get staggered. With Articulacy and the Wyrmking's Ring you have enough time to pull two rivets into his chest and another tap, which should deal massive damage.

I for one don't really mind lack of customization for magic. On a sheer visual level, the only games that have magic comparable to DD are turn-based JRPGs, and given those don't have dynamic combat a meteor in Final Fantasy doesn't compare to bolide in DD.

There could be more spells, yes, but I'd much prefer to have a smaller selection of incredibly powerful, stunning spells that truly make you feel like a spellcasting instead of just a regular ranged damage dealer in robes.

what I did was rush to the first moonbeam gem and get a ring of perseverance to reduce the grind in the mainland.

The only hard part is getting the void key from the midnight helix. One of the chests in the cave full of leapworms has a lvl 1 BBI Weapon you can purify to get endgame gear, like Chilling Razors, Dragon's Pain, Ascalon, that kind of thing.

If you get both the BBI weapon and the ring of perseverance then you have a massive power boost that is quite fun to play with if you're used to the game.

Go with thunder trance, most of the big threats(garm, gorecyclopses, elder ogre, eliminators) are weak to thunder. You may also want to bring a pawn with a holy enchant to help deal with certain threats like cursed dragons (or just use your last remaining shield slot for holy trance and ditch the ripostes. Up to you but I like the free damage). Thanks, I'll try that. Might just drop riposte, yeah, if only because I haven't fought anything so far that's needed me to block (I'm way too OP for when I started BBI). Only thing I tried to block was the condemned gorecyclops, and I guess my shield's too shitty because all perfect blocking did was let me not get flattened; no magic retaliation.

I really wanted to play through BBI as a warrior, but I'm hitting shit harder per swing as a MK and nothing in BBI seems to want to stagger from a longsword.
