Not really. If you try, you only have one shot. If it fails, you'll be forced to update to 10.4. You might want to wait on 10.3 without updating, even though at the moment it doesn't seem there is going to be a safer way.

I use a old 3ds xl with 9.2 sysnand and 10.4 RX-E emunand and is unlinked. The only game I own that used DLC is the Fire Emblem Fates one and I use the updated NTR 3.2 to use them. Oh and the emunand is a mirror if the original sysnand with its NNID.
I've entered the eShop twice today to test this and nothing has been lost. I use howling tool to install my themes and I still have all my installed themes and the one I'm currently using is still untouched after the eshop entrance. Wifi works normally too and also online.

I tried fixing the 022-2634 eShop error, but after going through the steps (back up emunand and folder, format emunand, link NNID, restore backup) now I get stuck on the loading screen for the eShop. Tried to go into NNID settings and it's stuck on "Checking Nintendo Network ID credentials." Which is troubling because googling that phrase brings up nothing and now I'm not sure I'll be able to format the emunand again if I need to. Still on 10.3 emunand. Any advice?

You don't level up: you gather materials from your preys to craft weapons and armor to hunt even bigger monsters, it's a game with a huge sense of reward because everything you achieve it's because of you only.
I recommend going to /mhg/ for more, they're fairly nice to beginners when in the right mood as long as you're not a sore loser (trust me, you will lose a lot but it's part of the fun of getting gud) and just ask for begginers tips and by saying this will be your first MonHun game.
And I recommend both 4 Ultimate and X because they are quite different, but X is the one everyone is playing right now.
I really recommend starting with 4U so you don't feel bummed in case you start with X and then play the previous games.

In the previous thread, several people were asking for a .cia for FTP after FTPBrony's speed improvement.
Vorpal Blade over at GTATemp has a recent fork of FTPBrony that has been de-ponified. Pic related is me transferring a copy of my EmuNAND.bin from my N3DS to my PC.

Additionally, I was hoping one of you guys could point me in the right direction to figure out why BigBlueMenu isn't working for me. I've installed the cia to my emunand with FBI, but whenever I try to launch it I get a popup that states "an error has occurred, forcing the software to close. The system will now restart"
I got my copy of BigBlueMenu.cia from one of the pastebins. It was bundled in "n3dscakepack.tar"

I'm presently on sysNAND 9.2, emuNAND 10.3. I've tried launching it will using both cakes and reinand as my CFW.
Games installed with FBI are running, so I guess at least part of what I have setup is working.
Was there an extra step for setting up bigbluemenu that I missed? Do I need a newer version of the cia? I've tried looking for newer cias, but so far I've only found cias for bigbluemenu with the same SHA1 checksum.
I suppose I can just keep using FBI, but I'd like to try new things.
