It just doesn't change the theme even if it says installing. But if I go to it from the Homebrew Launcher in emuNAND it works fine.

It doesn't work like that, it's a Wii U game, not a Wii game. Wii U saves are encrypted. The only people that can dump it are people with access to the save manager homebrew, and even that works very poorly.

Like I said, it can be dumped, but it needs a kernel-exploited console rather than just any random console, and I think most of us here are 5.5.0 never-ever. I don't know of any public level dumps but MarioUnmaker has the format documented: https://github.com/Treeki/MarioUnmaker

There's also some issues with Mario Maker in particular. I don't know how far that goes, but I've seen people complaining that the game doesn't work very well on Loadiine/FWspoof if you have the patches.

I could broadcast the packet just fine (confirmed with wireshark), but smash would just lock up and crash gracefully every time ("an error has occurred"). Gave it about 20 tries and gave up.

If you know a thing about 3DS, Wii U "kernel" = 3DS ARM11 while Wii U IOSU = 3DS ARM9.

With a kernel exploit, we can load code and redirect things to load off an SD card, but it's all kinda hacky and bad (the current Loadiine basically just overwrites Mii Maker or Smash with a game of your choice after it loads).

With IOSU, we can just install unsigned games to the regular home menu and it'll recognize it as genuine. EmuNAND should be an option too, though Wii U EmuNAND might be a bit more difficult due to how the console is laid out (32GB of EmuNAND is a lot). Things should bother us a lot less with IOSU.

Almost every .cia file I download seems to be invalid. I get them from different sources but mainly the links in the pastebin and 3dsiso. Sometimes they fail installing when they reach 99% but most of the files are marked as invalid right away by the installer. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Is it a bad SD card or am I fucking up my downloads somehow? I already tried different installers and I'm downloading games for the right region (EUR).

If no one knows what to do I'm going to try converting 3DS files to .cia myself (although that locks me out of some of the bigger games like Donkey Kong Country Returns).

The patched .cia for english language won't allow you to save mid-battle
The clean .3ds version will allow you to allow you to save mid-battle

Both auto-save when the battles are finished.
The spotpass doesn't work on either because of the issue creating extra data.

From what i can tell normal saves work fine.
it's just the mid battle saves that have problems
