If you are in sysNAND, remove your SD card and then select Other Settings > Page 4 > Format System Memory
13) The console will now reboot and go through the usual "Set Date and Time" etc etc. Go through all of that and once you are done turn the 3DS off.

You'll be fine. I've downgraded a dozen systems and never soft-bricked. Julian's fork is really nice. Just be prepared to reboot your 3DS a lot, because sysUpdater probably won't work right away.

That doesn't matter. Downgrading had a high failrate so people started coming up with methods to improve chances of it working. I'll tell you now, they were all placebo. Toggling wifi, opening FTP-3DS and closing it, etc. It didn't matter. It's all RNG. Some people were even so crazy they said plugging the charger in helped. You don't have to update.

NTR basically just runs whatever plugins you've got in the relevant directory. It can be used for cheats or in this case for making the 3ds think the console is a particular region.

The only issue that there's no way to really 'turn off' NTR without rebooting. You'll still get that green flash when loading other games, but it would really affect them unless you've plugins for those too.

I got the BoxBoy 2 CIA working after running it through Decrypt9's deep decryption. After testing that specificly converted file on both the original system and my o3DS, I feel confident in saying it works now.

Still kinda pissed that the tools for "actually" cryptofixing are winblows only, but if all I've gotta do for newer eShop stuff is decrypt it - I'm game.

I just got my N3DS(xl) that came with 9.8-25U. Have we got a grasp on what was fucked over in the update? I was told Browserhax, memchunk v2, and menuhax were all disabled when it first hit now I see the OP and see that it is now the complete opposite.

How should I proceed from here to upgrade/downgrade to 9.2? Do I still have 1 shot at this and SOL if I soft brick with a forced update to 10.4?

Should I downgrade from 9.8 or update to 10.4 using nintendos servers? Are you guys still waiting it out?

The opening to start using the hacks (Ironfall and browserhax) are dead in 10.4, so if you fuck up the installation and have to update to 10.4 then you're pretty much out of luck until another exploit comes around.

You're lucky you got a 9.9 because later firmware than that doesn't let you use browser if you're outdated.

memchunkhax2 has a lower success rate on N3DS, which just means you have to spend more time before you actually get to the downgrading. I think the softbricking rate is more or less the same on either model, or at least that's the impression I get.

memchunkhax2 was fixed in 10.4 and Ironfall had a hardcoded version check before launching, meaning it's fixed. All other entry points still work for the looks of it.

I had to unlink my NANDS after installing some games because it kept getting a giftwrapping bug. Now after the unlink wiped everything, my SD still seems to have the games installed still but they're not showing up in my emuNAND home menu, essentially taking up space but not being usable.

Is there any way to fix this? I can't install anything else because my SD is full of invisible games...
