From what I gather it was used by Byrgenwerth as some sort of Great One spawning pool, and Kos was supposed to fertilize all the female Great Ones you come across. But other than that I have no idea how else Byrgenwerth was involved.

I'm trying to finish off DLC stuff, beaten Orphan, but Laurence is giving me a lot of trouble for some reason. I got him into his second phase ONCE and I just can't get close to him, I had him circling me with swipes where I could slash away, but he kept catching me in his wide attacks.

BB's music in general was fairly weak. Like every other souls game, it had maybe 2 or 3 decent tracks and the rest was generic, bland or drown out by indistinct latin chanting.

They get a free beast pellet effect, and since beast pellets are supposed to be a rare, valuable and limited resource, that's supposed to be a big deal.

Beast claws will out-dps virtually any other weapon in the game when it comes to wailing on a multi-part boss like ludwig unless they pop a beast pellet, too. The free resource is supposed to be its balancing factor and pvp with it, like with the game as a whole, is just an afterthought.

Okay. Here's the trick. Buy 8 poison arrows and 100 wooden arrows. Stand all the way at the back of the pad where the lightning gargoyles try to ambush you. Hit them twice. So long as you're all the way back, they can't hit you, but you can use the woodens to get a firing solution. Then peg them twice or so with poison arrows each. Then get a drink or take a piss or something.

Gehrman was very very easy for me, but I have weird trouble with Darksouls bosses. I killed the Darkbeast on my first try without help, but struggled for a while with the One Reborn.

I think the Orphan is definitely the hardest boss in the game though.

Easy. You have less damage than most builds, but you still have 20 STR, better than a BL4 can manage, and you can beat NG+7 DLC at that if you're mad enough. Besides, you have LOADS of fucking health. You almost can't die.

That, and you can find various flat gems along the way to give decent damage boost. The DLC has an arcane gem with flat arcane of a decent amount to stick in a weapon before you even start the dungeons.
