Both Fang banners are trash. Oerba's Boon is decent, but not amazing. Lightning's SSB is legitimately good, but you're better off waiting for the festival banner if you really want it. I believe the next available Hastega relic is Lenna's third staff, which will be on the Exdeath banner. It also buffs attack, so it's pretty awesome.

One of the festival banners had Boon in the JP version, but it may very well get removed for Global, like it did in the previous festival. Probably better off aiming for Lenna, just in case we get jewgled on festival banners again.

As for walls, you're kind of out of luck for the moment. The next couple banners are more weighted towards offensive buffs, and damage/status ailment combos. Bartz's SSB has a nice group defense buff, and SG made an appearance in the JP version. As with Boon, though, prepare for Soul Breakfast 2: The Rejewgling.

3*++ are better than 5* only when used on a realm where the 3*++ get RS and the 5+ don't.
Even then, the 3*++ are not that much better.
So, it's better to focus on 4* and 5*, using 3* only on your first few weeks, when you have no gear at all.

After enough pulls, you'll have enough 4* and 5* to completely ignore 3*.

OR

You can hoard all 3* and have full RS gear for the whole party, but that would require a large waste of resources on inventory expansions.

Meteor is best right now, in terms of damage and uses. Bahamut is basically meteor with one less use, but it will be significantly better once it gets the summon buff letting it hit twice to break the cap (not currently in global). Flare is mediocre right now but well down the road it will probably be the best pure damage skill when -ja spells aren't hitting as hard but that could be a long while off, and until its higher rank it won't be great anyways.

If you don't need one of them right now to clear content I'd hold the orbs until you know what you want for sure.

Who is your favourite character in all of the franchise? Waifufags need not apply.

Celes's default SB is a RES buff. Shellga is it's own distinct status, so they stack.

Runic Blade is pretty much useless against Rubicante because most of his nukes are AOE, so Runic will only prevent one person from getting hit. You're much better off with SG/SS2 or a strong group heal. Or Boon. Boon makes the impossible possible.

Wow fuck this boss rush. Its the only boss rush that's been legitimately challenging since in ages.

I'm actually going to have to start it over again because Shiva blizzara'd me right before she died and I said "fuck it lets keep going". Brynhildr is borderline impossible when you go in with all half HP and no aoe heal.

Also Vanille fucking blows. I thought I'd give her a go as my black mage for the boss rush. My best mage gear, her RS puts her at level 75 and she can barely break 6000 damage with a -ja spell? Useless cunt.

Is Life Siphon good? I read it's a 1.8 and it grants 30% of the SB bar. Worth honing? I'm at 137 ice orbs but haven't made Blizzaja yet (only try element Ja I haven't made), and only have 53 Winds. Plenty of power.

Well, for people who can use Combat 4*, looks like Light's Blaze Rush, Kain's Lancet, Locke's Mirage Dive, and Balthier's Tides of Fate. I guess Sentinel's Grimoire as well, but that doesn't seem so hot on Tyro since he usually fills the support role.
It'll be strong with Lightning for this event, that's for sure. But other than that the choices don't excite me. If only Thancred could use Combat 4*, Dancing Edge spam would be pretty sweet.

This was my party for Cid Raines. Also used the same party for boss rush (with Protectga in place of Shellga) and Warmech (with Thundaga Strike in place of Tempo Flurry). RW's were Hand of the Emperor for boss rush, and SG for the rest.

Granted, Boon and Princess's Favor did a lot of the heavy lifting here. Took a few unmitigated hits on boss rush, but each fight was so quick that it didn't really matter. Warmech got dicey at times because he spammed Wave Cannon almost every single round for the whole fight. Cid went down like a bitch, and although he used a lot of Seraphic Rays and Poisongas, he never used Dazega, so I kind of lucked out.

Warmech was definitely the worst for me. Now I need to wait about two hours or so before tackling Barthandelus.

Bartz at 58 should outperform Tyro at 70. Tyro's stats are pretty awful. Bartz can use a large amount of weapons too, so unless weapon choice is a problem, go Bartz
use eggs since you probably hoard them

Terra is a good choice, Rinoa is good. I personally don't see Vivi as very good since if you've got a good synergy rod, the tankier mages will hit cap anyways.
Also, I'm not sure, but I think Attunement II will be stronger than Rod Master/Devotion, and then you should get Witch of Devotion since it's a quite large boost to black magic damage.

I egged Tidus from 70 to 80 too. Eventually events will start rereleasing tons of characters as well so people who have played for a while will get about 1 major growth egg's worth of extra greater growth eggs per event on top of the generous egg payout for clears and masteries. Add orbfests and Sundays to the mix and there's more exp to go around than you should reasonably need.

Do you have a group heal or a mitigation like wall? If you do bring advance, protectga, shellga, dont bother with breaks cus if you do he can counter with dispel and thats pretty much game over.
