Photon flare gives +120 (6 points) and +100 from after burst. So with photon flare I would have at least +100 TATK all the time if I keep it either up or in cd. Technique up 2 at 7 point gives only +39 tatk but gets the bonus from shifta.

If you damage seems a little fucky for a while, it's because extension messes with your damage variance early on, and fixes itself the higher you craft.

You're on the right path. You can continue the extending up to level 13 but the resources and price will be more, including the equip requirement (can be reduced with special crafting items by 10% or 30%). If you cannot get a craft level yourself; you can request someone via player shop craft section to perform it for you (you cannot use the weapon until they fulfil the request amd you redeem or you cancel the request).

Max that grind level before working on your affixes. The potential is 14%/15%/16% damage increase for crafted weapons, so it's up to you if you want to get those other two levels.

Max level extension + potential + affixes will make it better than most 12* (this goes for every red weapon but like I said, some 12* weapons are still top tier to have, such as Psycho Wand and Lavis blade).

You can always undo extension (Not that you should).
If you're new to crafting, which I think you are, you'll need to unlock higher craft levels by doing the lower ones, a lot. If you're low on money getting another player to extend it is honestly gonna be cheaper.

Gear is different per weapon.

For boots, you can increase gear by hitting things, or by charging a tech. The gear goes down over time or if you use the vinto gigue PA. Doing an attack that doesn't hit anything won't build your gear.

You got two options, farm for stuff like bert rodan (SHAQ only) and nepto rod (Facility free field boss) or run EQs that drop decent tech stuff and start working towards 13*.

Magatsu drops divine rod amaterasu which boosts light techniques, if you extend it to the max it'll have stats on par with caduceus.

It also drops a talis that boosts fire tech damage and one that boosts lightning damage.

There's also motav prophecy if you catch a profound invasion EQ

Profound darkness EQ drops a talis that boosts ice damage.

Dio weapons if you're desperate, just remember there are far better choices and that you should replace them asap.

I'd recommend trying to catch magatsu and profound darkness whenever possible to get the fire and ice boosting talises and amaterasu or something else as light asap so your damage in ultimate fields is good enough.
