I got in an argument with some faglet on /v/ about the 'best tanking race' being behind a paywall, I assume he was talking about Imperials. do the racial bonuses really make that big a difference?

They can things easier to get started with, but Champion Points let you balance out things your race doesn't have an innate advantage with.

Maybe if you minmax two players out and put them in a 1v1 pvp arena, the racial passives would make a difference, but as of yet there is no official pvp arena, and normal pvp has many more variables.

You can find less-conventional ways to apply your race's passives to your role too. For example, a "healer" in PvP could make use of extra stealthiness to sneak around a fight and revive downed players to help outnumber the enemy.

Is it even worth it running a Destruction Staff Sorcerer? Most sets I see are 2-Handed or Resto Staff (For breton a least)

I don't see why not. You can have either the 2-handed or Resto Staff as your secondary weapon if you want. There's situations where physical damage is better than spell damage, and resto staff obviously can keep you alive when you don't have a healer.

you get punished by bagspace even more harshly than encumbrance in the core games, and a lot of reagents are literally worthless at vendors. get a profession and sell off simple potions, glyphs etc

Stealing things is pretty good too, if you're fine with a little thievery. If you get in to a guild with a shop where you can sell items, things like recipes and motifs usually sell well despite being worthless to NPC vendors.

From the perspective of games where missing that month instead revokes your privileges to play at all, it probably doesn't seem like much of a problem.

The subscription also gives you some crowns each month, which you can put towards buying the DLCs if you feel that you aren't going to continue the subscription.

It's seems like a similar situation in any of the alliances really. I don't think pro-Argonian-slavery Dunmer have it much better than xenophobic Altmer.

It's always great to have more options, but the story kind of revolves around the Three Banners War and three peoples fighting together, which makes less sense if groups like the Heritance "win" that would probably rather stay within the Isles than work with lesser races to stand a chance of taking the Imperial City.

I think you should still be able to play a xenophobic racist, following the Queen's orders if only to help convince lesser races to fight and die in place of good Altmer. I think the Heritance itself is a smaller group that is actively trying to undermine the Queen and the Dominion, whereas the majority of Altmer will put up with her if it means eventually ruling over all Tamriel and having friendly cannon-fodder.

It's also revealed that the Heritance is run by a Daedra worshipper in league with Mehrunes Dagon and also kind of working with Molag Bal via Mannimarco so even xenophobic Altmer have a reason to take them out.

yeah they tend to throw in daedric pacts on the bad guys but it always kind of feels like a copout. I was glad they at least gave my racist daedra-worshipping tribunal-hating ashlander a nod in the maulborn quest since they were everything he stands for; at the final confrontation when the leader offers you to join you can at least answer with "I'm listening..." but it leads to the same conclusion

So, I need to get Mountain Flower and Columbine near Davon's watch. I used the ones given in the quest for Alchemist's Certification to test the effects. Is there anywhere nearby I can get both?

Besides the ones from that quest, they just randomly spawn.

If you don't want to wait and wander around, you should be able to Abandon the quest and then talk to the certifier again to restart it, and it will probably spawn those guaranteed nodes again.

Seems to work fine for me, been running through dungeons a lot lately with random groups. It battle levels the dungeon and the group to VR16 now and gives players loot for their individual levels.

Sell the fish for gold, or slice up the fish into a cooking ingredient and get a chance at obtaining a Perfect Roe as well. There's achievements for catching rare fish too, some have dyes attached.

Open your Journal, select the quest and it should say abandon somewhere on the menu, tapping the X key after selecting it might be the shortcut on PC.

If console, press start/options, go to Journal, Quests, select the quest and press Y/Triangle for actions, then choose Abandon.

You will definately find columbine and mountain flower around, they are common and spawn in all zones. You might see if you can get the Keen Eye passive in Alchemy, which highlights nearby nodes. Columbine in particular is very small and easy to miss.

If you still are having trouble, maybe post what platform/megaserver you are on, I know I have plenty of reagents and wouldn't mind mailing what you need.
