It won't last long. Hard mode is basically only hard until you reach Gran Soren and for about an hour leveling after that. Then you can consider it normal DD because you don't die in one hit so often. Playing on normal is very unrewarding.

It's fun hiring user-made pawns and you get to see what kind of pawns your friends made and hire them too. I didn't care about pawns at all on consoles since I couldn't take screenshots and had zero friends and DD communities were always fragmented between consoles -- but on PC it's different since I have tons of friends in my list and many of them are going to get this game.

It's not a big deal but it does add to the game and you should buy it because it's a good game, properly optimized, and they improved the game for the PC platform.

Personally I would say absolutely. It just feels really satisfying to me to be able to observe my pawn actually becoming better at the game and learning advanced techniques, and I always enjoyed seeing what kinds of crazy things other people had managed to teach their pawns online.

I remember I hired a fighter pawn from here once and I was playing Mystic Knight, dropped my Magic Cannon and this pawn fucking runs up to it and spams sheltered spike on it, burning my PS3 to a crisp. I was speechless for a while, i'd never seen anything like it before.

Too fucking right m8, i've been one of those fags who heard of the game and saw all the shills shilling it but never bothered to try it (I had heard the same types of praise for games like STALKER etc, games that just didn't interest me as it did others) but then when it came to PC I decided to pirate it and try it out and holy fucking shit, easily the most fun RPG i've ever fucking played. It's somewhat similar. Open world with various enemies crawling around, some of them are bigger and tougher than the others. Progress along the main story line, get side-quests from bounty boards or just out in the world, delve into caves and shit, and kill enemies for body parts so you can upgrade your gear.

The main difference is the combat. DD's combat is pretty exceptional, and easily superior to XBCX's menu-based snoozefest.

I find it more aesthetically sound than W3, which had many effects from last-gen which made the visuals inconsistent as fuck. Nearly everywhere I looked I had some gripe. DD also, literally, has better lighting.

Haven't played W3 with mods but I really like my DD with tweaks more. Except for characters of course.

I think I killed my savegame. I Alt+F4'd after saving, I did wait until the prompt had disappeared but maybe it hadn't totally finished writing to disk. Now it asks me to set gamma etc when I start up.
