What's the best way to make the lower portions of rockets salvageable? I put parachutes on them, but by the time I start dropping stages I'm past the point where everything just breaks immediately when it deploys. I'm still in the early stages of career mode, am I just shit out of luck until I get better parachutes or whatever?

I'm bleeding money because I waste a bunch on parts that end up just getting exploded because I can't figure out how to save them.

I miss old ksp. i miss being able to go up to 10k and easily turn to 45 degrees. i miss not having my parachutes break everytime I thrust out of the atmosphere. I miss not spinning around in circles because I slightly turned out of the prograde symbol. i dont care if it's not realistic.

KSP has been somewhat eye-opening in that it actually had some realism (or pseudo-realism), in it's depiction of spaceflight. That right there is a pretty good thing.

Even if I only play to sperg out for half a day setting up antenna relays and launching communication satelites(and then quit the game when I finish an array and get bored)

it seems to just play better and be less shit overall than most space games.

I don't honestly mind "Le So Kerbal"-type stuff, at least when it comes to flavor text (like a life support mod that abstracts supplies into a value named "snacks") it's light and keeps things somewhat fun and lighthearted.
