That's one way to do it, but because of the relatively low resolution of the mostly non-fractional map units it's a bit sketchy, which is the same reason the hitboxes are pretty simply implemented at the moment. Current item pickup functionality is vanilla, as in, run-over, with a couple of testing weapons that can be picked up with +use, stored independently, and equipped. At some point I'll do a complete overhaul of the equipment system, but right now it's better to focus elsewhere because the whole inventory/storage aspect is going to be one of the big challenges to tackle in general.

I'll admit when I started I HATED you insufferable cunts, but unlike the kidmins on other servers, you are adults. Grown adults, hooked to this shitty server on a shitty role-playing game that is so fundamentally flawed it requires constant adminship to ensure bad eggs cant fuck it up (which they can always do anyway). While space is technically 'cold' as in the ambient temperature outside of direct radiation is around absolute zero, you cannot conduct, or have convection currents draw heat away due to the lack of matter so only radiation applies for heat transfer.

You can still have evaporative cooling which could cause frost in normally moist areas, such as the mouth, throat and lungs (or sweaty skin), this wouldn't cause you to freeze solid or freeze to death but could still cool you to some degree.

Mesons is one thing that's hard to do right without changing underlying engine logic because of how Doom categorizes different types of walls. There are a couple of hacks that can be done to somewhat mimic it, but they aren't very pretty to look at code-wise.

Because the engine has been worked on through several source ports almost 20 years at this point, whereas Wolf3D has nowhere near the open-source support that the former has. Sure, it has some neat features like movable walls and a mostly grid-based map, but the former is possible in ZDoom-family ports through polyobjects and the latter can be simulated with enough processing power.
