I get Error 022-2634 and I'm too much of a retard to fix it. Can I update my sysNAND and do the whole process again but this time with TinyFormat? Currently my sysNAND is at 9.2 and my emuNAND is at 10.3. I'm using CakesFW in emuNAND as well.

When I try to play Smash Bros while using emuNAND it tells me that it won't find the update data even though I already downloaded it. When I press OK and try to go back to the home menu it freezes. I'm using an O3DS and redownloaded the updates from the eShop, if it helps.

This hurt. Just do this you fucking retard:

1) Backup emunand and backup its folder in sdmc:/Nintendo 3DS/ (easier method: add a _ or something at the end of the folder so you don't have to copy it off your SD card, OR cut/paste it to the root of your SD card)
2) Go in emunand system settings, pick system format
3) Let it do its thing
4) Log into your NNID on newly formatted emunand
5) Restore emunand backup and put its folder back in sdmc:/Nintendo 3DS/

I NEED HELP FIXING MY HOME BREW LAUNCHER

ctrbootmanager's boot.3dsx is in my root
ctrbootmanager's .cfg is set to boot_hb.3dsx for homebrew
hblauncher .bin is set to 10.3 and has boot.3dsx set to boot_hb.3dsx
the .3dsx for homebrew has been renamed to boot_hb.3dsx

they 3ds kept asking to turn off at the end after installing cia's and showing the same message and beeping. i loaded the SD card up and deleted some exdata folder on there.

That's pretty much all I did. I initially had a red theme after I downgraded to break the newer menuhax but after using PastaCFW it went back to the default so I'm not sure if I'm in emunand or sysnand.

Browserhax just repeatedly errors out, forcing me back to the main menu with a "there's an error, save everything and turn the 3ds off" message.

launch pasta to get thrown to menu
use browserhax to get hbl and boot fbi and installing .cia should work out

I'd say redownload starterkit from http://smealum.github.io/3ds/ and try browserhax to get in after pasta.

I tried using menuhax after pasta, but that didn't work. rebooting 3ds unloads pasta's magic

Multiple SD cards, reput the files on their 5 times, triple checked to make sure, and i keep getting "Failed to get CIA file info!" on my friend O3DS XL. It worked flawlessly on my N3DS but his wont budge no matter how I get into the HBL. Any idea on what to do?

Weird, I just used miniPasta and then as it was rebooting held L to start homebrew up. Ran FBI.cia and it worked like a charm.

The SD gets formatted when you do the setup, so when you hit select to unmount it after that it shouldn't have much on it. Probably just the files it kept to run Emunand9.
It's probably fine to just delete them and copy your stuff back. I normally just copy the stuff back and let things overwrite if there's duplicate.

So for a homebrew app there is usually a .3dsx and a .cfg
the .cfg is the configuration file.

I have two .3dsx files in my root, one for ctrbootmanager and the other for homebrew
Is it possible both .3dsx files are reading off of the .cfg file? It's not messing up ctrbootmanager because that is the .cfg file for ctrboot, but it would of course screw up homebrew because it doesn't have a .cfg file

Could this be the issue?

Will rxtools run the GBA ambassador games? I see the CIAs but I don't want it to fuck my shit up by accessing DS mode and bricking.

why the hell does it say to put the EmuNAND9 3DS folder on the root of the SD card if there is already a 3ds folder there, also do i just discard the rest of the files?

Question regarding RXTools. I can get it to run from the browser just fine, but I can't get it to run from the homebrew menu. It just black screens as I try launching it.

Ok I got to the point where I run minipasta and it works but when i try to run browserhax for the second time it never finishes, help ;_;

When I try to play MXH, its shows the 3ds logo and then blackscreens, nothing happens afterwards, did I fuck up something?

You needed to inject the FBI BEFORE you formatted and BEFORE sysnand.

Tell us more about your situation. If you're using themehax with linked NANDs, that's your problem. Either uninstall themehax or unlink your NANDs. If have just unlinked them and it doesn't work when launching it from themehax, launch it from another entrypoint, change the theme back to default in emunand and then you should be able to use it from themehax even if you change your emunand theme.

The first error I had trying to install fbi.cia was resolved by fixing the dbs folders,

The second error Im trying to remember now but it went from _SINGATURE ERROR to WRONG_INSTRUCTIONS where im stuck now

And the order I went through was

Unlink sysnand with emunand

I posted this a while ago on the previous thread, but here goes.

Downgrading didn't work at all on my O3DS XL. I had to format my system and it worked, but before that I exported my saves via svdt. Now I'm trying to inject them back again, via the HBL .cia from emuNAND, but it just opens up and doesn't let me pick which game's saves I want to manage. I'm a n00b at this, what am I doing wrong?
I haven't really played anything in a long while, so I wouldn't mind starting from 0 again, but I'd prefer to have my old saves back.

Yes, but Menuhax is still simpler. If you install the hblauncher_loader.cia file you won't be able to run it without signature patching still, so you'd have to get to the homebrew launcher and run pasta just to.. lauch the homebrew launcher. Menuhax is way easier.

There's a guy who posted a version of pokemon saphre(star saphire) with a trainer with large breasts patch, and also patched to be harder.

Does anyone have a link to the game but with only the largebreasts patch?

Is there a simple to use save manager I can install to the home menu?

I had one I believe was made by the same people who made bigbluemenu (interface looked similar) but it listed all the games by their ID instead of their names so it was hard to navigate and extract the right save.

Also the save manager I use now is quite literally the only reason I open the homebrew menu so getting one as a cia would be great.

Will I lose anything if I hack my 3DS? Multiplayer access, themes, save games?

.3dsx (homebrew) retroarch cores for SNES run great on the n3ds, 60 fps, small dips to 57 when shitloads of mode 7.

.3dsx retroarch SNES cores kinda suck on o3ds, like 20-27 fps in Super Metroid.

I couldn't get BlargSnes to work, so idk about the frame rate there.

gpSP and Gambatte (retroarch cores for GBA and DMG/GBC respectively) are the only emus I liked on o3ds. n3ds has tons of neat cores.

Haven't tried any .cia emus yet so don't know if the speed boost is significant.

If you're just updating something you can just install the newer version and, assuming it shares the serial with the older version, it will replace it with the better files

I've set up everything to the point where I'm at cakes. I placed all the files for caked, including both the firmware and key bins, and everything else.

When I boot Cake from the HBL, I just get a black screen.

Followed this guide, everything works, I auto-boot into emunand. I need to install FBI.cia.
I need PastaCFW to disable signature checks to install FBI.cia.
When I launch HBL through browserhax I get the purple menu I get at boot, giving me the option of pastaCFW (loading gives me frozen red screen everytime), rxtools, HBL. Doing it through HBL also gives me red screen.
When I launch HBL through Ninjhax (loaded through a sky3ds), It crashes and sends me to the home menu with an error.

Wooooo I finally got the game to install. I don't know exactly which of these things fixed it, but I deleted the .cia's on my SD card and put them back in, and I deleted the Cakes folder and put that back in as well.

I'm guessing the .CIA's might have gotten corrupted during my initial transfer somehow. So if you're getting that error try that. It's also possible that my cakes didn't change the settings properly and deleting those files caused them to regenerate and fix it.

Either way if anyone runs into those problems, try doing those things.

Alright finally have everything set up so I can update my emuNAND, I sure hope updating doesn't fuck everything up

everytime I copy the image to my new SD and try to run a game it gives me a SD error, I used all the known guides to humanity and I still got error while trying to launch a pre installed game or trying to install one with FBI.

I downgraded to 9.2 sysnand and currently run 9.2 emunand. Is there no reason not to update my emunand to 10.3 or is there a possibility of something getting fucked up?

If so, how do I update the emunand, exactly? Just like a regular update?

I was able to fix it by doing one of two things.

1) deleting the .cia's in my SD card, and putting them back in

2) Deleting my cakes folder and putting them back in.

I'm not sure which one of those fixed it because I did both of them at the same time, but one of them did it.

for the .3dsx file, I have been changing the file name

I'll try regenerating hblauncherloader_otherapp_payload_OLD-10-3-0-28-USA and edit it in dreamweaver (since I don't feel like downloading notepad ++)

Another person said to delete the ropbinpayload_menuhax_USA12288_old3ds files and reinstall menuhax
I don't see how that would fix the problem since menuhax is finding the boot file fine, the hblauncher can't find the renamed file for some reason

You downgrade the system by extracting the 9.2 Firmware depending on your region and model and these files are placed in updates folder

Format emunand, use savedatafiler to extract saves

Make a backup of your entire 3ds folder as well as your initial emunand format to your computer

You can format emunand and back it up with Emunand tool. Have 2gb of space ready before doing. Complete install will wipe whole card so back that up too

I recommend installing fbi with pasta to sysnand before formatting emunand so it copies over

System settings should give you a hacked version number. If you're on o3ds use that as an opportunity to. Update directly in the menu. Careful though: exiting system settings will boot you back to sysnand
