9.2's browserhax is different from 10.3, you need to use sliderhax. Zoom in on the top left of the screen and hit the rightmost side of the slider, while still within the slider.

Im currently on a New 3DS 9.2

I installed emuNAND 9.2 that boots via rxtools ctrbootmanager.


When I update emuNAND with sysUpdate to 9.5 it says
"Preparing to start home meno, please wait and dont turn off the power".

What am I doing wrong?-

I used FBI to install sysupdate in emuNAND and used the correct 9.5 files.
The downgrade process seems to go without a problem but it wont load to emuNAND after I update.

You are supposed to install the custom theme INSIDE the menuhax manager, because if you change the theme outside of the manager, you pretty much fuck up menuhax entirely

Are you trying to get FBI on your NANDs? If you already unlinked, dump EmuNAND with EmuNAND Tool (PC Program) and flash it back to your SysNAND by putting its NAND.bin on root, going into Gateway Menu (download the .3dsx from their site, run w/HBL) and pressing A while holding up on "Downgrade Console" to restore your NAND.bin to SysNAND again

After that (or if you didn't unlink nands yet) then run pasta, hold trigger button to prevent menuhax, get back into homebrew launcher via browserhax, run FBI.3dsx, install FBI.cia

Finally, format EmuNAND with EMUNAND9 (back up files first) and you should have FBI on EmuNAND.

After formatting emunand remember to format sysnand (take out the sd card) to unlink nands before trying to get FBI back on it, or you'll just delete it again.

Do the pasta>homebrewlauncher>FBI.3dsx>FBI.cia method again to get it on sysnand too.

Is anyone who uses retroarch on o3ds getting poor performance too? Gameboy/gambette runs "okay" but NES and up emulators run terrible.

I though that after I run retroarch on CFW the performance wouldn't be perfect but I would run most pre-n64 emulators at full speed. I could run NES and genesis at full speed even on my Nintendo ds with a flash kart.

Yes, the files in the folder that looks like "7047534hkjh057435gh3l" in Nintendo 3DS is just all of your games and themes and stuff. The actual emuNand is a hidden partion that needs to be backed up itself. I used EmuNAND9 for this, which allows you to backup and restore the emuNand but emuNand Tool should work fine too, might even be faster.

I was playing Tri Force Heroes with 2.1 update on 9.2 emuNAND

Beat two levels in the first dungeon area

I left my eshop games on emunand, made Emunand.bin backup and then installed some pirated games.
Suppose I'll somehow brick an emunand and then restore it with rxTools. I assume my eshop games will be fine, but pirated games will end up unregistered in emunand, while still being on sd card within tons of folders.
Is there any method to delete them automatically?

Probably not, because you've added files since then.

I mean you can keep both copies just in case. In my case, I accidentally forget to back up my themes folder, but because I saved a version before I started, I still had it.

Also, you did make a back up of your NAND, and saved it, right? You want to do that BEFORE you format the SD.

I've managed to install Cakesfw on two separate 3ds' but I can't seem to make a third one work. You are taking sysnand and copying it to your SD card when you do that. You also delete everything else off the card so back it up first. Your main goal is to get FBI on both nands so you can install .cia roms and stuff. more info at >>127869994

Each NAND has a unique ID, which loads the "Nintendo 3DS" folder. When you system format, you change that ID. When you format EmuNAND, it copies SysNAND to your SD card and emulates it from there.

Unlinking means you format sysnand (or emunand, but preferably sysnand) to change the ID folder it reads from in /Nintendo 3DS/

There is a way to extract your "online info" from a retail 3DS game and then paste it onto your 3ds roms before installing the .cia files.

This means that Nintendo won't see multiple people logged in with the same "online info" so it looks like you're on a legit game.

I have no idea how to do this, I just remember reading about it a few months ago, it may even be useless now and the VFW handles it or something, who knows really.

When running sysUpdater, how do I know when to restart? I know it says to get red text, but it also says it would freeze on a number, but I only run into a black/blank screen. Should I see anything prior to it or is that the freeze? N3DS if that matters any for this step.

Go to settings. Assuming you're using rxTools it will say RX - *version number* rather than VER. *version number*. Remember that leaving settings is like a reboot though, and will go back into sysNand.

You can use it along with software on your PC to transfer files over your internet connection. I just did the ftbrony trick too cause I read some people succeeded in downgrading through that method. Not sure what the connection is, but congrats anyways

I removed the emuNAND profile from the Ninendo 3DS folder and had the system redo the files when loading to emuNAND.

I read somewhere that it was a titles issue so I figured it would help to remove the profile and it paid off.

First, delete your current /rxTools/ folder.

Copy over the /rxTools/ folder as well as the /3ds/RxTools/ folder

Then, run from HBL/CTRBootManager again. If it red-screens, try again until it boots up.

its probably a game with high system resource use, so it doesnt run alongside the system menu like most do. closing it actually reboots your system, which kicks you back out into sysnand.

Do you care about your games/saves before you started any of this hacking? If you do, you should restore EmuNAND.bin back into SysNAND again, because you unlinked before installing FBI.

If you format EmuNAND now, you will lose your original NAND, which I highly recommend you do not do if you've used your 3DS before this.

If you do not care about your old games/saves, then go ahead and do that. Otherwise, start from the beginning again.

Phoenix Wright vs Professor Layton (EUR) got to 95% on bigbluemenu then failed because it was an "invalid cia". Haven't run into any problems with other cias so far though i only tried 4 others. Can i try the US version? I assume i have to run NTR before starting the game on cakes?
