I've been trying to downgrade for three days straight

I managed to get to pic-related yesterday by formatting my SD card but it's as far as I've ever come.

Because it gets a write error prematurely it thinks it's on 9.2 firmware when in reality it hasn't finished downgrading.

Everytime it fails I have to boot into safe mode and update the system otherwise it'll keep failing to write because it already installed these .CIAs.

What the FUCK do I do? I followed the intructions precisely but to no avail. O3ds and doing this all on menuhax.

and the safest sysupdater too.

You need to unlink your nands for themes to work, I'm pretty sure you have to have sysnand without a theme, go into emunand then activate a theme. Assuming they're unlinked they should work properly. Possibly set emunand to shuffle themes?

How do I into EmuNAND
I followed the guide
When I restart the 3DS the homebrew launcher automatically starts, but I have set menuhax to Type 1 to only start when I press R.
When I try to start cakes Homebrew launcher starts again.
What do I do to get into EmuNAND? Should I try to install rxtools or ctrbootmanager?

Well I just got a 3DS on 8.1 so i'm not worried about downgrading, but my new SD card for it doesnt come for another week. If there's anything I absolutely have to do before the 11th I could use my 2GB SD i use for saves on my updated 3DS but i'd prefer not to.

How do I get homebrew again once i downgrade to 9.2? I used the 10.3 one to downgrade so I guess it stopped working.

It is impossible to develop a downgrading tool that has no risk of bricking. The only way to be safe is performing a NAND backup and being able to restore it, and the only way to do that right now is with a hardmod. Use what we have now because if you wait for "Stable builds" you might fuck yourself over if you softbrick with those and are forced to update to 10.4

after having rxtools working and passing to the part of having it boot up trough ctrbootmanager now my rxtools wont work as soon as i tell rxtools to boot in emunand all i get is a black screen any tips?

besides entering the eshop beforehand, anything else I should do before starting installing CIAs?

to regain access to the shop but now when i start HANS and select the eshop it was at the loading screen, turned black and that's it, nothing happened.

Now i booted back into cakes, started FMP and just started the eshop without HANS and it looks like it works fine.

Has anybody else have trouble with the super sm4sh cia from mega 3ds website? I've managed to install it with big blue but whenever I start it up I get pic related. Anybody know any fix?

Right now I'm at a point that my gifts remain unwrapped and ctrboot works.

NANDS are APARRENTLY UNLINKED because both nands have different versions and if I make folders or install shit in emu in won't appear in sys.

BUT.

If I install a custom theme via CHMM2 loading the HBL in emu it'll instead be applied in sys and somehow ignore ctr, having me to erase manually boot.3dsx and install menuhax again.

I just want to forget about all this DSiWare shit and have a nice theme to go with my emunand and play only 3ds.

Is signing up for that crappy 3dsiso site really the only way to get these games?

Hey I'm having trouble starting rxTools. I originally menuhacks theme was fucking with it somehow but I was able to open enuNAND with Cakes and changed/initialized themes without any issues and it still blackscreens.

Is it possible to do the Health and Safety injector with cakes?
I've re-formatted my SD card and 3DS multiple times now, every time I tried to re-installed FBI it said it was already installed, naturally I took that at it's word and it's become apparent it wasn't actually installed at all.

I think FBI lingering on my 3DS between formats might be causing some problem?
What reason could there be for multiple versions of RX tools simply not working at all?

Don't install games to NAND. Games aren't meant to be put directly into the system and you'll get a blank dummy all that'll crash the game if you open it.

That happened to me once. Doesn't even seem to be related to the Emunand stuff, since I've had it before I downgraded. Try looking for a file with only a ? image that takes up 0 blocks, and delete it. It fixed it for me.

Last question for a while (I think). When installing .cia's, do I have to have the wifi turned on?

I really hope they aren't corrupt. I have 4 backups of them so it shouldn't be that, they worked in the first one at the very least.

What's the chance of bricking if you UPGRADE to 9.5 using sysUpdater? There's a nonzero chance for downgrading but what about upgrading?

I just this found out myself but if you get an error while trying to launch the Homebrew launcher through your browser with sliderhax, TRY TURNING OFF YOUR THEME

I have downloaded like 20 .CIA files but I can install only 3 of them. FBI gives different errors.

I've re-formatted around 4 times. The first time it installed normally, the second two times it said it was already installed, and I skipped it the last time because I wanted to avoid using menu hax (the only way I could go to homebrew twice in a row)

There's also a way to make the cia itself regionfree so it could have been that your mhx copy was prepared. But don't worry too much, yes there are ways to circumvent region block and they are not difficult.

Everytime I install the cias to downgrade it just gives me an error upon the reboot after installation. Used different sysupdaters, readded the files several times, same results, everything works up to this point. I tried taking the SD card out when it reboots, nothing.

I'm just sick of recovery mode resetting at this point, I don't know if I'm just unlucky or what, it will just not work for me. I'm on old 3ds using Ironhax as an entry point. I don't think using another entry point will make a difference. Was there a specific timing for taking out the SD card? I've only started doing it since there's no other options at this point.

I didn't but i figured out a clever work around by myself so if anyone else has this problem, install FBI into sysnand then go into emunand manager and clone sysnand to emunand, then boot into sysnand again with pasta and unpar with tiny format, worked like a charm

This has to be the most exhausting experience I ever had installing CFW. I think I spent over 5-6 hours installing everything!But now I think I'm finished.

Does anyone else not care about piracy that much but instead backing up all their physical 3ds carts to their 3ds? It's nice to be able to switch to different games to play without manually ejecting carts anymore.

Browserhax isn't automatic on 9.2
When you scan the QR code it will load a page that looks blank but there is a slider at the top left.
Move that slider to the right and it should load HBL. This might take a few tries.

I'm trying to install homebrew via browserhax on my o3ds, latest firmware. I seem to do all the process correctly, got the boot in my sd card, set my theme to default, initialized saved data, deleted cookies and history, and everything it says on the guide. The thing is that it freezes on red or yellow flashes, sometimes the "unable to continue" message shows off. I've tried to do this around 80 times. Anyone has any idea?
