Finally got the downgrade and CFW working but I've one problem.
I have smash on a cartridge and after performing all that, when I try to start it it says that the savedata is corrupted and will be reset.
I'm assuming this has to do with the folders inside the nintendo 3ds on the root of the sd card but, how do I get the 3DS to recognize it again?
Is there a way to restore the nand backup I performed earlier into emunand and update that, and then restore the long stringed folder in the nintendo 3ds folder so that I recognizes the save file again? (if so how do I restore the nand into emunand?)

I'm stuck /hbg/. I'll try to list what I've done so far:
- downgraded to 9.2 without a problem
- placed rxtools on the root of 3ds
- same with launcher.dat
- same with firmware.bin, slot0x25KeyX.bin, fbi_inject.app and fbi_inject.tmd
- booted up gateway
- "back up system nand"
- afterwards copied everything from my sd to the computer
- go back into gateway
- "format emunand"
- afterwards tried moving back the stuff to the sd card, but couldn't because it wouldn't fit
- put everything onto a bigger SD card instead, everything seems to be there and working
- placed fbi.cia on the root of the SD
- afterwards System Settings>Other Setting>Format System Memory with the SD out during that process
- do that
- everything is now fresh, all my stuff disappeared (which is normal I guess)
- I figure that my sysnand and emunand are unlinked but I don't know what that means
- open up rxTools
- Other Options>Install FBI over Health&Safety App

From my experience, if you change your theme on emunand it deletes menuhax too. I guess the only way to get a custom theme is installing it via Menuhax installer (Provided you booted HBL on emunand)

Okay I can't help you with that part, but I can help you with the MHX part that follows.

Don't install a pre-patched CIA. Get an unpatched CIA.


Get the NTR from: https://github.com/44670/BootNTR/releases/tag/3.2

You can download the .zip and the .cia

The .zip has a .bin file you put into the root of your SD card. You install the .cia as normal from FBI.

Then get the MHX patch itself from: https://gbatemp.net/threads/wip-mhx-translation-patch-eng.403613/

When you boot into emunand using your CFW of choice, you can then boot up NTR on top of it.

Doing it this way means you can update your english translation on the fly without having to reinstall pre-patched .CIA's. You can also take screenshots and stuff, so that's cool too.

Real simple actually, you just need to generate the .3ds file's ncchinfo.bin and drag that to your SD root. Be sure there's a folder called Decrypt9 on your root as well. Run the first option in Decrypt9's xorpad menu, and check that folder after for hot fresh xorpads.

I'd like to install some GBA games to sysnand so I can play them in emunand. I set up autoboot and unlinked nands, everything works fine on emunand, but my health and safety app got deleted after I unlinked the nands somehow.

There is something I am curious about. I hear that when you install cias with linked nands you always have to unwrap the game to play it everytime you boot out of cfw. I never unlinked my nands and don't have the unwrap thing. So is it just a bug with some people?

My 3DS is on 9.9.0-26U and apparently the exploit I was using previously, tubehax, no longer works. I'm trying to install menuhax but everytime I open the browser it just asks me to update (and if I use that other DNS it just says the browser can't be used right now).

So after I downgraded to 9.2 I reinstalled menuhax and it just won't work anymore. I tried 2.1 and 2.0 and all the type options, all I get is this screen until I let go of the button then get an error at the home menu.

Haven't seen this exact problem yet, any idea what is happening? It's in some guides but can I skip the menuhax step? Would suck to rely on browserhax though.

The only way you could save your 3DS would be if you backed up your NAND before trying to downgrade by using an hardmod, but we wouldn't help you with that as the restoring process is literally the same as the backing up one, so if you had a backup you would already know what to do.

Your NAND is your 'system' crap.
Which is like, installed games and updates and whatnot.
SysNand is what your 3DS is 'actually' running, EmuNand is a Emulated NAND, not sure how it works, but it allows your 3DS to make changes to the NAND without it 'actually' changing the NAND.

With that knowledge, unlinking them allows you to do shit like update the EmuNand but it won't affect your 'actual' system (SysNand).
Likewise for things like games. So you'd have games installed on one that won't show up on the other.

It's useful if you want to update your 3DS (Use EmuNand), but want to keep your actual console a older, easier-to-tinker version.
Also it allows you to try different things without actually breaking anything (Usually) as you have your older version to fall back on.

They introduce very little, in my opinion, to the series so if you liked it for what it was it still has that charm.
