No, you NEED to make sure you use the N3DS one and that you get the one that corresponds your region. If you don't do this, you will brick.

You don't actually need any files for browserhax. Assuming you already have the homebrew launcher working, all you do is visit a URL and it'll launch it.

But yeah, once you've downgraded you just follow one of the 1000 guides out there to installing CFW, since at that point you're no different than any other 9.2 out there.

Alright i managed to downgrade my eu nds3 from 10.3 to 9.2 with the sulib version of julian20's downgrader
- i formatted my 4g sd card (the one that came with the device) as fat32 using the windows build in tool.
- i used the startkit and installed menuhax
- i installed 9.0.0-20E(Full)_n3DS
- it took me around ~10 tries to enter the menu and start the downgrade.
- everything went fine on the first try and the device rebooted by itself.
- i did not have to remove the sd card when i booted 9.2 for the first time.

My system shipped with firmware 9.8 (purchased new at a retail store a couple weeks ago). I updated to 9.9 using the Smash cart so I could play it. I updated to 10.3 a couple days ago when I found out IT'S HAPPENING and browserhax was live again.

I did the downgrade from 10.3, using menuhax as my entrypoint. I tried a bunch of arcane bullshit (FTP, wifi, ironhax etc), but my successful run was just booting straight from menuhax into sysUpdater.

Yes, iff you do this before Nintendo pushes out 10.4. Reason I did it at 4AM last night is because we're all pretty sure Nintendo's shitting bricks right now, and I wanted to make sure I could still recovery boot to an exploitable firmware if I soft bricked.

Mine froze after it was all done at the "reboot in 10 sec" line, but I waited 5 minutes, held the power button 5+ seconds to turn it off, removed the SD card and then booted it up again. The first boot was a scary 10+ seconds of pants-shitting blackness until it booted to the first-time menu and everything was well. I put the SD card into my computer and deleted the extdata folder as per the pastebin, put it back in to the DS, and did browserhax -> menuhax.

That was all around 5AM last night, haven't touched it yet to do the CFW etc. No rush on that stuff so I might just wait a week or so until these threads slow down.

Alrght so I have a N3DS. I installed cakes, used it to install fbi, set up a nand backup and emunand, and unlinked the emunand by formatting the system memory.

Everything loads up, but I don't know how to access Emunand. Cakes locks up when I choose to boot CFW now as well. I feel like I'm missing something but I don't know what.

Why so many bricks? My 3ds is just fine.

You shouldn't have to re-download Ironfall, but you can't use it as your entry point (without serious trickery) because the payloads are different for 10.3 . I think you can maybe update the payload ahead of time?

Easiest thing to do is just 10.3 upgrade -> browserhax -> update your menuhax -> update your ironfall.

Setting up menu is fucking easy. Is your 9.9 already menuhacked? Either way you just run the 2.1 menuhax-installer from the homebrew channel after browserhaxing. If you get an error then reboot to regular menu, change your theme once, change it back to no theme, and try browser -> menu again

How long should old eshop spoof take to load? Mine is endlessly loading. I am running the version that comes in smea starter pack

Are private headers needed for playing games online with CFW?
