3. Don't make game design comparisons between DaS2 and DeS e.g. lifegems and grass, dying reduces your total health percentage. DeS is flawless because it's platform exclusive and the oldest game in the series.
4. Don't mention DaS2 unless you are actively shitting on it
5. Make sure you state that any given thing in DaS3 is "like DaS1/DeS", so that you aren't insinuating in any way that anything from DaS2 has made it in, even if it is a potential improvement or sidegrade.
6. State that you hope Soul Vessels make a comeback, but never mention the downsides and do not make any references to DaS2.

Holy shit, the twinblade is godly in low level pvp

Pretty useless in pve, but fucking hell this tears people in half, with the stone ring if you hit once you can stunlock them to death after the first hit

And it swings in every single direction multiple times so you always seem to hit people during rolls, and when infused it just rips through shields

How come I never see this weapon used? The fact it attacks about 9x as often as any other weapon means it's constantly chipping away

Lost Izalith is like current Shrine of Amana (huge agro range) but Lost Izalith still has the worst boss(es), however the sorcs in Amana are ranged and the dragon butts were no problem compared to the Capras.

Shame because both areas are so pretty yet unfinished, RIP Shulva being part of base game.

I think Shaded Ruins is the ugliest place in the series and Brume Tower (DLC2) emcompasses everything bad about Dark Souls 2 in it.

Worst enemies in your opinion?

Best weapon coming through

Alright retard mode question here. I played the shit out of Dark Souls 1 on console well before it came out for PC. A friend of mine bought it while it was on a fucked up error sale and gave me a steam copy but neither of us touched it until now.

Now he wants to play through it, but purely coop, and remembering what a fucking bitch it is to get the right summon sign on console, I dug up some stuff and found out that the debug build leaked ages ago is its own private lobby/server/whatever and so you only connect to other debug users, so we downloaded it.

Problem is, he can see signs and soapstone messages just fine, but I can't see jack shit. Worse, if I leave messages and log back in or terminate steam, I always connect to the same empty server with my own messages scattered around, more than one at a time. I went back to the normal version instead of debug and set my download center to his, and I still wind up on the same dead server. I have no idea what the fuck I did.

I rolled a 2 hander claymore fighter in demon souls. eventually got him in some nice big armor, loved smashing all those uchi fags and magic fags with it.

in dark souls i went pyromancer and am now experimenting with a heavy armor poise character (but probable just gonna drop)

in dark souls 2 i think i built a knight and it was eh so then i rolled a pyromancer/hex build and it was kinda fun for abit. lost interesting in the game and stopped playing it.

So now that i'm about to do a fresh play through of ds2:SotF Should i make a bow/caster? I need something that can do both pvp & pve as well.

The encounter design favors adding more enemies instead of harder enemies, which I find tedious. This applies not only to normal combat, but to bosses as well.

So, I just beat Bloodborne for my first time - I though it was nothing short of brilliant!

I also played Dark souls way back when it was released, which I'll rate just as good as Bloodborne.
I'm now seeing Dark souls 2 for sale on Steam.I never got to playing it and I'm slighty turned off due to some of the "hate"

So my questing is basically: Is it worth to buy or will I sit and think "This is not a true Miyazaki souls game" during my playthrough?

im watching some girl do a "blind" playthrough of dark souls. At first she was having trouble using the control sticks because she doesnt game much.. she picked deprived and was told (by reddit) thats the weakest class to start out as because she now has no armor.
then she proceeds to simply strong attack(leap attack) just about every minor enemy for the 1hitko and break right through enemies ripost guard or shield block. several enemies have been doing the ripost block move against her but she just bashes through them effortlessly with her R2 leap attack not knowing how close she came to getting riposted if she had for some reason had chosen to r1 instead.
She also beat the tauros demon first try, gargoyles 3rd try (with help of solair on third).

It reminds me that the difficulty is largely dependant on what weapons/armor you use and is also a little emasculating for me because she is doing way better than me with her strong as fuck strength weapon and poise armor. where as i got my shit pushed in repeatedly with my no poise pussy ass small agility weapon on my first blind playthrough.
Though she did remove the poise armor for something more aesthetically pleasing and is now getting her shit kicked in because her leap attacks get interrupted vs some enemies now and she hasnt figured out why which makes me feel a little better i guess.

You mean the gate near all the jail cells with ashen skeletons? The one's I've seen trying to do that got insta-wrecked. I've read (and noticed) that if you have no summons active he does slightly less damage (and you do more) but honestly, it doesn't make a big enough difference to keep me from dying. The second he charges his sword it becomes as long that it covers half the room when he swipes. The furthest I've come so far was with 2 NPC summons distracting him (even though they were both half-dead when they entered the room) and got him to about 40% HP. After which he stabbed me mid-roll and finished me off when I tried to chug an estus.

It's by far the most annoying bossfight I've encountered so far (the only one I've needed to summon help for) so I'm not really looking forward to Fume Knight, as I've read he's even more annoying.

Yah, smelter's charged phase is similar to fume knight's charged phase. Both of them have deceptively long hit boxes in that phase. The best thing you can do is to roll towards and behind them during their swipes. Both of them like to do delayed attack combos that fucks you if you anticipate and roll early.

I'd say cool ranch smelter is good practice for fume knight but I actually killed him last. I was using a magic-based spellsword so I had to get an alternative fire-based weapon before fighting him.

Rating. What I think are good to amazing is 7-10. 6 is okay and anything less than it is something I consider a problem.

I genuinely think Bed of Chaos is a better encounter (still fucking bad) than centipede demon because centipede demon is horribly designed and entering the arena is the only challenge with it lunging at you is bullshit especially on ng+ onwards where it one shots you.

Also BoC looks cool while centipede demon looks worse than PlayStation 1 graphics.

Composite bow 40str 40dex power within evil eye ring. Swap evil eye for hawk ring whenever you're not using power within and/or against single enemies or boss/bosses.

Try Demon's Spear off hand if you want. I think it's 10k or 15k souls if you join Forest cov and go to Shiva in Blight town after speaking to him. Long swords and quick short range weapons/spells excel with it. I made a SL 30 character for invading with one 3-4 years ago for lower blight town and she owns.

Or do a co-op experience with friends and do something crazy with CE like picture related.

So for Dark Souls 3 (in the Alpha build at least) does the host need to actively be participating in Co-op to be subject to invasions or is it just by using an ember are they subject to invasion?

That's basically Dark Souls 2.

They also implemented older ideas like grass as a slow but quick to use hp regen item as lifegems, dying = total health % loss for some reason. That isn't Demon's Souls fault because it's more about DaS2's philosophy of it wanting you to take damage but it's something that got changed in DaS1 for a reason which fans for some reason wanted in DaS2.

To be honest DaS1 and BB are the best mechanically, I don't want nothing back from DeS and I'm kinda worried about mana being back but we'll see how Soul Arts work.

I have NEVER been invaded in DaS2. Is PvP just more polite in this game or something? I just went through Belfry Sol and even there nothing, I expected people to be queueing up there. I'm not seeing a great deal of summon signs either, though they are there, and I get summoned frequently enough. Is this soul memory's doing?
