Exported fitted objects also don't align nicely at all in OS either so I'm in a rut until max gets an update.

I understand that, believe me, but I don't like having to upgrade anything frequently, for basically any reason. If that means that an ultra-high-end computer from almost ten years ago is now just an "average" computer I'm fine with that. Of course given that I can run Fallout 4 on Ultra Settings, MKX with everything at max, or just about any other recent release you'd care to name at a silky smooth 60 FPS, I think it's doing pretty good.

I'm not above paying a little extra to be ahead of the curve, even if it's just slightly ahead. I mean, what else am I going to spend that money on? Aside from the computer expenditure I'm careful enough with my budgeting that I always have money for food, bills, rent, my car, and enough left over afterwards to save in case of an emergency.

If you factor in the cost of upgrading a more "basic" setup every two to three years, I'd have either spent the same amount or even more.

The max exporter I have puts them far away from where they should be for some reason. I suppose I could try the CBBE body instead of vanilla but I doubt that will work as importing an OS .nif has it properly aligned like my outfit pieces.

I felt like importing was good but exporting was wack. Then again I've already exported Fallout 4 outfit.nif's and used them in-game without issue so I really don't know. I'll try .fbx again but I think I did already. .nif and .obj for sure weren't aligned.

Also a kind of related question about UVs. If a mesh has a broken UV would it appear as purple in-game? I got a headpiece mesh rendernig in Fallout but it seems like no matter what I did it was purple as if it was missing a texture, even with all the paths set up properly(?).

Well you can fix any offset/scale issues in OS, but another shortcut is to open up the max resource on the CBBE page, delete everything but the body mesh, and attach all your objects to the body, then delete all the original body elements and export/selection. It still might require some offsets in OS, but generally the scale has always been correct for me. I have to export to OBJ from OS and then export as FBX from max to get vanilla assets to keep their shape.

Purple textures means something is wrong with the material. I'm haven't picked up the 3.0a OS update, but the version I use doesn't assign materials correctly on meshes that have come in through FBX, you can probably fix it by opening the final nif with nifskope and manually naming the BSLightingShaderProperty to the correct material path.

Ive been thinking about making an Unstoppable's quest mod down the line where you recruit unique followers to be the rest of the super heroes and a part of the quest chain would involve setting up your own hero lair. Maybe even allow you to recruit the ANTagonizer or Mechanist if I could work it in to the story.

The voice acting isn't good, a bunch of dialogue repeats when talking to other characters (not a big deal for the most part, with a few exceptions) and it generally makes things harder for the modders and even Bethesda themselves. We can already see how severely roleplay has been limited in this game because of it and the mass effect style dialogue wheel.
The only thing I like about it is when I take a lot of drugs and the character goes yeaahhh... one time.

Unvoiced NPCs need a little different dialogue system. Think the unvoiced dialogue box in NWN2 compared to the voiced cutscenes. In Skyrim I found it sometimes in mods, but I didn't like it.

That being said I have no problem with unvoiced NPCs in general. I especially prefer an unvoiced PC.

I want to make character focused on crafting, base building and scavenging.

This gives me access to all the perks I want, namely:
1) Armorer, Blacksmith, Gun Nut, Chemist, Demolition Expert amd Science! for crafting.
2) Cap Collector, Local Leader and Medic for base building.
3) Strong Back, Locksmith, Hacker, Fortune Finder & Scrounger for scavenging.

Is there anything here I'm missing or is unnecessary? Character seems like they'd suck in combat, but they do get access to potentially every weapon damage skill pretty easily. Could probably drop one point from Agility and put it into Intelligence or Luck.
