Sure, if the raw is high enough, bonus element is a nice addition, sure. But most of the time elemental weapons lose too much raw for a questionable boost in element. Also, that anon is asking for a good weapon to have during progression. And maintaining an upgrade path for every element is costly.

That's wrong, every quest can give you symbols, as long as there's boss monsters.

If I recall correctly, low rank non drome boss monsters give 1 symbol per kill, low rank dragons give 2, high rank dromes and other boss monsters give 1, high rank elder dragons give 3, g-rank boss monsters give 2 and g-rank elder dragons give 5.

You can get 5 symbols by doing a hunt-a-thon quest and killing 5 monsters before handing over the paw pass ticket, for example, but that lasts a bit too long for my liking. If I wanted to grind for symbols specifically, I just did any g-rank caravan dragon.

The symbol gain might be a bit off from what I just put there, though. High rank non dromes may be giving 1.5 symbols per kill (rounded down) instead, and low rank boss monsters might only give 0.5. There's also the possibility that monster difficulty in the monster list plays a part in deciding how many symbols you get.

All in all, just hunt things and you'll be fine.

Re: firmware downgrades

People are hitting a few road bumps, like the standard browser method for launching Gateway isn't working for some reason (browser issue?) and Homebrew can require reinstalling.

Ironically good examples of both why to wait and to do this soon as it's actually ready, if it keeps depending on Browserhax. Hopefully that silly fact changes. A workaround should pop up.

It's running ver 10.3.28J, I bought MHX via eShop. I'm playing it but am desperate to read it in english.

So how much does the framerate differ in MHX comparing a 3DS XL and N3DS XL?

From the view graphical comparisons I saw it seems like they upped the texture resolution but downgraded the anisotropic filtering drastically.
