Question for perhaps someone who knows what goes on under the hood of a game:
Is reducing draw-calls (or setpass calls as Unity is now calling them) as much bullshit as I think it is?
They say you should combine your textures into an exceedingly large image and make an atlas, but I don't know why making every object call a giant texture map is more efficient if only because it's the same giant texture map.
