Not much to show, it's a mobile game. However this is the first "serious" level I'm making for the game, since the previous ones were for testing purposes. I'm planning on making it the second level anyways, it looks too complicated for a first level.

Someone compared Wacom to Apple and I think it's an apt comparison. They're very overpriced for the hardware you get but "it just werks". Whereas other companies are like android, where some personal troubleshooting may be required but it's a much better value for the hardware.

Well, you control a smiling face and the objective is pretty simple: Get to the exit of the maze without dying while trying to achieve the highest score possible to unlock more levels. Once it's loaded into a mobile device, the game gets the coordinates of the accelerometer to drag the smiling face to the bottom of the screen, so you basicaly move the face by moving your phone. This can't be achieved in PC, the only way to move it there is by clicking in a point of the screen which makes it a lot easier. Thats why I'm not showing any webms.

I've had it for around four years now, and aside from the shitty pen, it was well worth the price. It's probably one of the best inexpensive tablets out there.

If you're looking for a cheap tablet that gets the job done AND won't break on you within a week, I'd definitely recommend it.

A reworked obstacle - dynamic highrises.
Those used to look like pretty detailed and representational office blocks, but abstract shapes are really the way to go for this game.
Things like these are intended to work as a sort of climb/buildup before an intense and fast drop.
You can just skip the section by going the ground route but you'll miss out on points and will have to take a nastier route in the drop.

you're really confused about what marketing means. demand is reach * probability of purchase where probability of purchase has to do with price of your game, the price of similar products, the proposees budget and some other things. your reach is how many people you managed to make a proposal of purchase to, which is basically marketing. what i'm saying here is that not everyone you're proposing to will make a purchase and the more people perceive your game to be a bad value proposal, the less likely they actually are to make a purchase. in other words, if you show your game to somebody and your video game is appropriately priced for that certain somebody, the somebody is gonna demand to exchange his money for your video game.

tl;dr your game is bad value and you have to cut your price. you're competing with every video game out there and right now, i can buy civ 5 with all the addons for $10.

For a jump like in the mario games, you do the following

Generally speaking the opposite is true.
By splitting objects, the engine will be able to cull the ones which aren't visible and improve performance, as opposed to having one massive model which will all always exist.
Smaller models are also better for re-usability

Self-learn is the best method
Get gamemaker, dig through documentation until you can make a sprite move. Then do the same for collision, then put it all together to make pong. Then make any other arcade game (tetris, snake, space invaders, whatever).
Once you've gotten the skills to program one of those, you can pretty much make anything. Being able to finish a game is up to willpower, not intelligence.

If you can't program at all, then just learn C# from a book until you hit a brick wall then do the earlier steps.

Disclaimer: I did this method and I think I can dev but I haven't finished a game.

You missed one key thing about your pricing. Perceived value. There's a really fucking small amount of people who perceive your games' values at what you price them at. You can affect this by having good trailers, good screenshots, lets players, reviews and other articles.

You fail to take in to account that even if you think your game is worth X, other people will not think the same.

Additionally for cases where you (or someone else) might price their products really low they must consider at which point is a price too low. If you see a game undiscounted at 2$ does it seem like a worthwhile product to you? Chances are a lot of people will think that if the dev decided to price the game that low, he must think it's not worth any more than that and it's probably shit. I must say I've no fucking clue where this price point lies at.

The fact that the model is clothed makes it useless as reference for a beginner (And let's not even get into the fact that it's not perfectly facing forward).
You can try to guess what's underneath her clothes but without a lot of experience that will only lead to failure.
I don't really use character sheets anymore, but without a good one you are only only handicapping yourself when learning.

You take your reference from what you are tying to do. For real people it's real models. For a stylized character it's a drawn reference.
If you use someone else's interpretation of how a 2d image should work in 3d you are gonna be stuck trying to emulate everything he did instead of understanding how to properly pass 2d to 3d. If you have access to the model, you can attempt to copycat their style, but with only pics it's a moot effort.

I've made plenty of shit in 2D, don't worry.
It's not "like GTA, but mixed with Pokemon! ooh, and i'll add epic zombie survival!" It's bottom-up gameplay design.
I've gotten to the point of buying physical materials and creating real play pieces to simulate gameplay for the few I've spent a lot of time on.

All that said, I still don't consider that legitimate dev work and very much idea guy level shit if it doesn't lead to anything, so it's frustrating being stuck here.

I think I have some deep inset desire to make a 2.5D isometric thing because everything keeps leading back to that no matter how different the gameplay starts out as.

Anyone here know about blender? Trying to paint some textures but the brush looks like horse shit no matter what I do

Try and paint directly onto the model, it's also dotted for some reason, paint onto the UV editor and it's gigantic, but less terrible, but still terrible

Do I need better hardware or is this something else?

The character you play as is open to interpretation based on the levels in the game and your progression.
