Random line of questioning: Someone was talking about 'Truly legendary Legendaries' and I was wondering what thoughts people would have for such things? A few ideas kicking around in my head are one for each faction and goes something like...

>Unique Laser Musket that provides a protective shield (reduces all damage by like 20%?) to all friendly targets around the player (like maybe a 10 meter radius?) for each kill made with it.

>Unique Fist weapon (you look barehanded but the draw animation/model involves injecting yourself with "experimental nanites" or maybe a 'perfected' FEV strain) that boosts all your stats by 2 when carried and increases melee damage and damage resistance by and additional 15%. General construction stuff (for houses, furniture, etc) should be made more available in the wild, particularly around settlements.

Crafting items for armor and weapon mods should be re-balanced entirely so that you don't HAVE to find a fuckton of typewriters and desk fans just to make turn a stock combat rifle into a tacticool black gat.

Setting up scavenging benches in a settlement should also bring in more salvage than it does, too.

I've been trying repeatedly for a few days to fix the issue with the compass and critical Meyer extending too far left and right respectively and overlapping other HUD elements. I agree that the eyes are a bit wonky. The real problem is that we see that helmet all the time. From the back of the box to the menu screen, NCR Veteran Ranger Armor was made into the icon of the game, similar to t-45d in Fallout 3. Added with the problem that the picture of the mod shows a lot of detail about the mask before the mod is even released or shown in game.

Showing X-1 isn't an argument because its a result the backlash at their butchering of the Enclave Armor in 3. If you point at Advanced Power Armor in NV and then the iconic armor in 2 its based on, it's clear to see their difference. It's been so long that the little details don't matter as much, and because we aren't seeing the little details before the game was released.

The guy who made it tried to reify together Elite Riot Gear and NCR Veteran Ranger Armor, and because of discrepancies of style, the helmet got messed up. All the other little details don't really matter, but you can see the difference, for exampling, by just seeing that the boots is borrowed over from Elite Riot Gear.

It's fairly easy to con trying to make the model align with the game mechanics, with the base clothing plus the armor extension. Imagine if Bethesda tried to do the same thing. Look at how they did the combat armor. The heavy army looks inspired by the model of Combat Armor Mark II from 2 and New Vegas, but its obvious that the armor is completely different.

Rifles in general suck in fallout4 I maxed rifles my first go round and they were pretty bad desu senpai. I changed it up to pistols the second time and it seemed those were far more effective weapons.

base combat rifle does 50 points and with mods it's max dmg capability is 200 base. (this assumes you don't have the rifleman perk) even if you get that perk the max you can do is 800 pnts dmg. The alien pistol does 400 base, with the pistol perk at max it does nearly 1000 couple that with better criticals and you do between 1200 and 1400 pnts of damage.

Nah, I used to rock a Lewis Mk. II thanks to one of those mods along with some Tribal T-45d power armor in NV.

I would have preferred if this gun were similarly top-loaded but the Sten/FG 42 style loading isn't too terrible.

The only time the gun looks bad I think is out of power armor, like they really should have made a smaller gun to be the "standard" assault rifle I think.
