4starters is my favorite, whatever the current version is (jump_4starters_rc4 or whatever, doesn't matter)
beef is pretty good but I don't really like the order of some of the jumps in there (why the hell is there a sync in the intermediate section, syncs are rarely used, there's that useless part with the moving platform too and it's just. why)
Avoid jump_adventure, it teaches you nothing.
quba is pretty good too

Honestly the best way to learn jumping is to practice rollouts on various maps. Bind mouse1 to "+attack;impulse 101" to give you constant resupply and have at it. Load up some videos of people doing jumps on open maps like Upward and try to replicate what they did.

Why was the Dead Ringer buffed after the nerf?

Am I the only one that thinks the rocket jumper should be buffed. Its nerfed way too hard. Why cant you carry the intelligence with it. Its like valve doesnt like fun.
It should be buffed so that every kill you get while rocket jumping gives you an extra rocket like the airstrike. Up to 8. Honestly if youre that good there should be some reward for using a shit weapon.
That being said remove the base jumper. Theres no reason why anyone should be using it and its inferior in utility to the gunboats. Its only there as a crutch but its a crappy crutch.

Axtinguisher needed the -33% damage penalty and the slower attack speed to punish you for missing your first. What made it overpowered was more than anything the fast switch time from degreaser and no punishment from airblasting more than once.

I agree with the slower attack speed, but the damage penalty is ridiculous even without the slower switch speed and makes it way less efficient than just using your primary to spray flames on cunts.

Axtinguisher crits used to do 195, then they did 195 from behind/88 from the front, now they only do 131 damage from anywhere AND it swings slower AND it takes a year to equip.

It's a worse weapon than the Fire Axe and Sharpened Volcano Fragment.

I'd imagine a joke weapon would be something like the sun on a stick (why would you ever be following a pyro to grt crit swings), volcano fragment (you have a flamethrower why would you use your melee to engulf someone) and the fan o war (why swing someone at point blank to deal x1.8 damage with minicrits when you can deal x1.75 damage with your scattergun at the same range and probably end them up quicker?). Just weapons that have scenarios so ridicolous that barely or never happen. Those are jokes.

Now bad weapons don't have to be joke weapons. See the warriors spirit. If you pull em out your health goes from 300hp to virtually being 180hp so melee crits will end up killing you now that's just bullshit. That weapon has no situations other than medieval

If it ALWAYS has the same switch speed regardless of flamethrower then a 20% damage penalty would be better. Would deal 156 dmg crits that would still give classes like soldier and demoman a chance to do something for a short while before dying, while being effective to take down light classes and medic that end up in unprotected.

It would be more fun for both players involved as soldier can fight back and pyro could be fast enough to pull out a flare and take him out.

Im a pub stomper. I dont play comp but Im probably decent enough to be good at it. Not amazing. As a soldier am I really expected to shoot people out of the air. I only do that with the direct hit and I can only do it when Im aggressively practicing it (the direct hit is shit if youre not practicing it for hours a day and playing even more with it). I usually go airstrike on pubs and always end up top 3 and have a kdr of 3:1 or more. That is unless another pub stomper is on the other team.
When I watch frag videos its always of people getting shot out of the air, but when I watch comp play that never happens.
I only ask because when I play on death servers I can barely keep a 1:1 kdr. Fucking scouts are terrifying. I dont understand how they are more broken on pubs (probably because noob sentries everywhere). But when Im on the death server I have to pogo around and snipe scouts because close combat I cant win. I see other soldiers all look up to try and get the scouts but I jump pogo away and catch the scout if he chases. Or if he runs.
Also direct hit wont give me the initial hit on them even if I can pop them out of the air it doesnt mean anything if I cant get them into the air. Hitting the scout out of the air with the stock is just as hard as hitting the scout off the ground with the direct hit.

Yes, you should be able to airshot with default rockets and pipes if you're decent enough to be good at comp.

This is bad. DM servers are for practice. Running away and playing as gay as possible isn't going to teach you anything. Don't even equip gunboats in DM. Practice your aim. Try to hit your shots instead of abusing high ground and stuff, save that for actual matches. You need to be able to kill scouts if you want to be good at soldier.

If you hit right at the feet they'll get popped up, even if they aren't jumping or crouching. Also if you haven't learned to airshot yet I recommend practicing airshots in DM, MGE, tr_rocket_shooting and tr_walkway until you're actually able to do them, then you'll be able to practice them in normal TF2
