It won't always work, but it can help. Be aware that it feels almost like balancing on a ball, like if you do too much, you'll wake up right away. If you do too little, you'll kind of forget you're dreaming and it will fall back down to a normal dream and you'll lose control almost immediately, but maybe that's all just me.

I do agree that Asgore needed more time in the story though, we never really get any one on one time with him when hes not trying to kill us and thus we don't ever really get an inside look into his motives, just what Toriel thinks they are (and shes bitter and biased as fuck)

You can still get both cooking equips on Genocide Run since they're just lying about. You can't get the Temmie Armor though, they just charge you a ton for the flake.

I get that, to be honest. Frisk had the chance to get to know and love his other friends. They got to temporarily live with Toriel (permanently in one ending) get given puzzles and captured and dated by the skeletons, had spears thrown at them and a cooking-lesson from Undyne, and Alphys was a huge part of Hotland. Asgore was just the clueless guy at the end who got dragged along for the ride.

Mettaton has a more developed relationship with Frisk than Asgore, and he isn't even considered a main character.
