I have a proper answer to this, especially in the way of porn/r34. It's not as straightforward as you think.

When porn started being drawn (and as usual it didn't take fucking long), it was pretty par for the course to make Frisk female and age her up above 18 years of age. Artists overcompensated a bunch and made Frisk very buxom (ranging anywhere between 'huge breasts and hips' to actually fat/chubby), just to be absolutely clear that the Frisk in those images was 100% an adult. Furthermore, in a ton of these images, Frisk wasn't actually the focus of the piece and more like a prop to be paired with Sans/Papyrus/Asriel/sometimes others.

People went apeshit and called any artists doing this "pedophiles", their extremely tenuous reasoning being that the character in the canon is a child so it must be creepy and pedophilic to age them up for porn (Tumblr is stupid). There was one in particular (a walruskin whose preferred pronouns were "skree/skreem/skreeself", no less) who compiled a massive list of artists who portrayed the subject and encouraged everyone to harass/block them.

So long story short, for a lot of people doing porn, it was easier for them to invent OCs or self insert because they were receiving some pretty serious threats and accusations on the daily.

As an artist using tumblr as a platform to gain some fans etc., tumblr is a minefield.

I draw something that has food in it, and you'll get 30 reblogs tagged "food, body image" etc. I draw the most inoffensive shit and even I'm just waiting for the day someone gets offended because I draw Frisk a girl or something.

It's easy to say 'just don't care" but trying to gather an audience as an artist is though enough already when there's so many mediocore 15 pandering to everyone, and regardless tumblr offers a huge audience.

Twitter is another big platform I use, but it's hard to keep it neat since I genuinely enjoy interacting with other people on there. Whereas on tumblr I can just have a 'clean' art blog.

Pixiv is neat but it suffers from issues like harder to navigate, sorting by popularity being a premium feature, and you need to have an account to just browse even.

Hey folks I've been meaning to play this game but I'm reluctant to do so because of its the impression of pretense the game's demeanor has excited in me. Bothe the gimmicks of pacifism and the nongendered mc seem like cheap ploys and the usage of the similarities between this and Earthbound as a selling point seems unwarrented. The amount that is boasted about the soundtrack as a reason to play the game shows how shallow the actual game may be. I would love to play this game and experience the great joy shared by many others, but I've hesitated because of the above reasons. As a fanartist I think it's just tempting to draw characters show emotions they wouldn't otherwise show, with Sans the obvious one being crying. I definitely feel the same way. There's always the safe route of redrawing scenes from the game, but after a while you want to move on to trying out different ideas with the characters. I think most here are just tired of the overexposure as you mentioned previously.

To be honest, I think you're on the flipside, and ignoring how emotional he got at the end of his battle when Blooky and other people were calling him. He's narcissistic as fuck but you could tell he was genuinely distressed over the Napstablook thing, so he is emotional. That and willingly sacrificing himself in Genocide, where a lot of other characters got the fuck away. So i am in the true lab now and was collecting the keys to open the main door. But aparently i despawned the blue key by leaving the room while it was on the ground and i saved the game afterwards.
