There was a book about the events that were taking place in Orlais between Gaspard, Briala and Celene that came out a bit before Inquisition. It actually went a little into the eluvians as well. If you haven't read it yet, I believe we have it in the pastebin along with the other books that have come out.

I'm probably not the majority on this, but I liked the really big maps and and all. There were a lot of quests that weren't integral to the story or anything, but it helped to paint a picture of what was happening in the world aside from just the breach. As far as Corypheus goes, I honest to god thought the game was over after Haven. They really should have switched the two around as far as saving all of the townsfolk, etc. It really could have been done better for story flow.

All the elves who disappeared...remember when Solas said he didn't want the inquisitor to see what he becomes? Even though he did say he walks the path of death either the elves who followed him will live with a price or be sacrificed through battle with the Qunari or to give Solas incredible power.

He's definitely going to need the elves' power for now.

Who knows if Solas wasn't so self conscious and doubtful he would take vhenan. I doubt though that the current elves will become immortal. But then again I still think the previous elven people will be resurrected through blood magic and the elves who followed Solas will be their new host bodies.
Remember when Cory got disintegrated and then revived through Samson? That might be what will happen for the return of the elvhen. I mean if you have enough hosts you can resurrect all of them. Solas also said his kind/people don't die so easily like Mythal.

I don't dislike big maps either, but I definitely prefer story content over them. Cory, samson, the mage woman, the venatori... they should have got content that explained where they came from through some story telling method other than codex entries.
Dorian could have provided venatori quests, cass or cullen red templar content tied after with varric&bianca, and so on. They could have elaborated on orlais' civil war...
It's insane that the war table give such cool read-only content while I'm off killing vermin in the fucking desert for 20 hours.

It would have been neat to see flashbacks with voice narration to introduce a lot of those characters when you pulled up the main quest on the wartable.
