It's very decent with the quirks it has now. With 20% heatgen it can run a variety of fun energy builds from 2lpl, 2erppc, 5erml, and 5mpl.

Just be sure to play it like a longer range fast medium, because it's a bit too big and slow to be a proper surpriseanal light.

Friends Ive fallen in love with the Thunderbolt. I bought the SS(?) with the 7 Energy hardpoints thinking to emulate the trial version but with bulk medium lasers per its quirks. I feel like its a waste not using that shoulder missile slot though. Whats the minimum number of MPL I could use and still be an offensive threat? 3 or 4 seems like Im just a 65 ton annoyance to most everything.

It will show you're optimal range in the bottom left while in game, if its grey it's entirely out of range, if it's yellow they are out of optimal, if it's green you're good.

Pulse have shorter range than their normal counter parts, but have shorter duration and higher damage than normal for more heat and weight.

Chainfiring is shit. Don't use it.

There is only one time it might potentially be useful, and that's when an opponent's got a cherry red section that'll kill him but he's shielding well so it's very hard to hit. In those cases where a single MPL shot will finish it off, you can chainfire.

Even then, though, fuck it. Just don't chainfire ever. It's so much worse than alphaing and people will laugh at you when they spectate you if they see you chainfiring.

That said, I agree, it does have its uses, they're just few and far between and it's probably easier to just never even consider it especially as a newer player, lest you get into bad habits of using it too much.

Chainfiring SRMs and Streaks is okay when you're riding the heat limit, especially on Mad Dogs where you can't alpha without incurring ghost heat, but even then those 6SRM/SSRM6 builds ought to be alphaing when possible.

If you like the AC10 then I highly suggest trying the UAC5/UAC10 TBR build. The staggered projectiles actually are decent at messing with people's perception, but more important when you're within 300~400m you'll be putting up very nice volleys that should all be landing on the same component. UAC5 and UAC10 have a lot of synergy really.

It's for the matchmaking system.

Tiers 5 through 1, 1 being best. It tries to match you with people who are at exactly the same progression on the bar as you are, then slowly expands its parameters. It can search 2 up and 2 down, so Tier 3 can play with everyone but Tier 1 can only play with Tier 3 and 2.

Tier 5 is nothing but shitters who don't know a single thing about the meta and brand new players, Tier 4 is people who run shitty builds, Tier 3 are mediocre players who might have the potential to be okay if they made attempts at self improvement, Tier 2's decent players who know the ins and outs of the game pretty well, and Tier 1 is all meta builds all the time no fun allowed.

It's set up in such a way that as long as you're not braindead you will eventually get to Tier 1 with enough matches played. It could take anywhere from 500 matches if you're a pretty good player to 2000+ if you're just passable.

Jenner IIC isn't actually the end of the world though. It's actually pretty fucking well balanced, the Hunchback too.

The Oxide is easily just as good as the Jenner IIC, and the Firestarter and Cheetah will both dismantle a Jenner in a brawl. Their legs are huge for a light as well.

We've talked about this before. Brandy can't be expected to let people ride forever on his dime. Mumble is paid for and functional until like 2017. I feel the odds are more likely that we'll all be dead by then, rather than that we need to worry about someone taking over our organizaton from the inside.

Someone linked me here and wanted me to comment. I had been using discord due to CIG's adoption of it for the PTU tests that I have been participating in.

I was talking about and extolling it's virtues (shilling it is the meme). I enjoyed the fact that it seemed to be a modern VOIP and while I like mumble, fixing problems and working with ACL (permissions) can be a royal pain in the ass. For those of you that don't know I have had admin access to mumble from day 1, I pretty much use it to make fancy rooms and fix any issues that might arise, from time to time I will kick people when I consider it funny like dudebot or Kyo.

When speaking to Brandy about discord he urged me to make a discord server to test and see if we might migrate it too, I set everything up and we've been using it every since, for awhile i was bouncing back and forth between mumble and discord but basically only on discord nowadays. It's simply a modern VOIP client which gives me less information about the clients than mumble does. You can't see the IPs as an admin and I've given the same people the same powers as mumble just like when we moved to mumble to ventrilo.

Yes I have an agenda, I actually like Kong, even the people that I don't necessarily like, otherwise I wouldn't go out of the way to set things up and used to do Kong Kasts which is a lot of work for me and Laser. I like to see Kong succeed in whatever games they play and we are usually pretty good at that. I was bitter about MWO before for a little while, but well I got over it, I have no issue if you play any game.

Kong takes all types, and if you don't know about me, I dislike exclusionary tactics within groups. Even if I don't like you, if you are Kong I accept you and want you to remain within Kong (except Shuma and Protection they can fuck right off.)

We are in a bit of a transition as SC is starting to shape up to be something tangible and playable, although it has some time to go and yes i'm leading the charge on SC stuff, that doesn't mean I don't want other Konglets in discord or to play other games. Like I said before I like Kong to make a big splash no matter what game they are playing.

So, I intend to do what I always do, focus on SC, hope other Konglings play whatever games they enjoy on whatever VOIP we happen to be at. As for privacy, yes discord is a free service, but so is google and we all use that. Not to mention we dont share personal information on chat anyways.
