Imagine Lord of the Rings, except there were two thirty second porn scenes in the story, and whoever try to talk into reading this story "No, this is clearly just a porno, the entire reason it was created was to be porn, there's nothing else"

Its the other way around really

F/SN is a sixty hour novel, and the sex scenes take up less than 5% of the plot for sure. They meant so little to this story, that they can be entirely removed and it means nothing, and they were in later editions.

The entire reason they were added in the first place, is because when a visual novel company is first starting out, you have to add shit like that to get people to buy it, but then eventually they realize there's a genuine story here and they start buying into it anyway. Then after awhile you can go legitimate when you have a decent enough fanbase, and you can leave the H-scenes behind without any fuss, because people still buy it now. KEY and several other big names places started out the same, they all did H-scenes at first.

It isn't a middle finger to the fans, they were never buying it for the porn, the porn is laughable and shitty. People played this shit despite the porn.

People played this shit because it turned out there was a real plot and some interesting lore.

>Just finished Heaven's Feel tonight because I was sick of being a secondary.

I'm feeling really conflicted on whether I liked it or not. After how much you guys have hyped Zouken for me as a character here and back in the /a/ threads, he just wasn't a very compelling character to me. There's some little tidbits in his backstory that make him seem interesting, but none of it translates into present-day Zouken. He may as well have twiddled a moustache to describe his role to me. I wasn't a fan of Sakura either. I didn't hate her, and I sympathized with her after finally seeing what she went through, but despite that I just don't find her a compelling character. I thought Rin and Shirou had a better relationship, both in UBW and even in HF where Sakura's supposed to be the love interest. I think I respect her more than I used to, because at least now I've actually seen her with some agency in the story and trying to do things for other people, but I never hit that point I thought I was gonna where I finally realized "Oh wait, this is a good character". Rider was honestly pretty boring too. Is there more to her in Hollow Ataraxia or something? If I had to pick, I'd say Lancer in UBW and even Archer in Fate did the sidekick Servant thing with more personality.

I'm not sure how to describe my problem with it really. It wasn't boring, it just wasn't... enthralling, I guess? I loved the side portions and secondary plots of the route, all the extra characters you get to see more of than you did in previous routes. But the actual centerpiece of the story just never grabbed me. Am I crazy? Am I just not "getting" it? I thought this was supposed to be the best route. It just kinda felt like a letdown.

OPM is carried entirely thanks to connections,talent and effort put in to deliver a good product thanks to a good schedule and trying to pass off all of the said effort for le budget XDDD is an insult
