"No" in that they do not buckle to the community. Example: Lots of people moan and whine about 'Carriers cannot see! they are underpowered, blah blah blah!' ... but that is because the power of ships comes from commanders.. to adjust a stock CV, makes a fully built CV better, LET ALONE the effect it'd have with fully decked out commanders (200 sight increase per, and 4 commanders with it.. your bombers become mini-scouts..

And 'Yes' with : "Subs dive animation sucks, any chance at making it better?" and with the brits, came sub animations.

But I think if they ever had a 'off by a decimal point' bug.. it would be fixed immediately.
Another "Yes" would be the Censorship system.. at release it had a lot of words blocked for no reason. (Japanese was ***anese. for example.) That was one of the first patch/fixes.

When you hit T2, feel free to apply to <No Botes Allowed> (and post IGN here so we know who you are to let you in.) and either I'll do it when I get back tonight/tomorrow, Or someone else will when they hop on.

Highly reccomend the IJN DD's, but I know the US certainly hold their own in that department (No idea brits, other than they have good anti sub.)

As for BB's I had gone IJN first, but have been having quite a bit of fun with all three lines honestly. (IJN or US a little more than german for damage in my opinion.. but that german armor and penetration makes for fun matches.)

They actually have the balance pretty well I think for the tiers. (I am not past T6 so cannot speak higher than that.)

Subs are not that strong in and of themselves due to being countered by CV's, DD's, and CL's
But if the supporting fire on targets lit up by the sub nukes the DD's and CL's, they can play like a shark amongst minnows.

If a DD is not countered by other DD's/CL's/CA's they can wreak havoc either themselves, or via the sight they provide their allies.

IF BB's or CA's do not nuke CL/CA's when they are lit up.. the BB's/CA's lose their spotters/AA-cover quickly, and are weaker for it.

CV can be applied to any of the above, and is affected to some degree by any of the above. (Lose eyesight means less bombers, more scouts needed, and AA eats planes so having enemy DD's and CL's up means better anti-fighter coverage, while having allied ones means you can focus targets vs playing deadly hide and seek with AA.)

It is a relatively decent rock paper scissors system in my opinion. Where skill+Luck can make up for some of the shortcomings of ships.

Had a CA that was lit up by a friendly DD. I fired accurately at him, and got 'lucky' in that I landed all my shells, but He was also 'Lucky' in that he went away with 7 hp and finished off that allied spotter who was busy killing an enemy spotter. (the CA did die to another allies barrage that arrived moments too late.)

With proper give-and-take support, basically any class can shine.

Yeah CVs have to compete against their teams for damage. Upside is they can 1 shot with their TBs.

Take it with a grain of salt though, you are the most influential ship on your teams when played right. Your time to shine will come.

The captain grind is the longest in game for a reason.

If your fleet gets in on Fleet Battles (Tuesdays and Saturdays 18:00-20:00, 6-8pm Pacific time)
You can make 360 merit from the weekly 2 wins in any level FB event, and 90 merit from 4 matches played, 1 win in Senior.

and

5v5 every Sunday and Thursday, 180 Merit for 2 wins weekly.

And there are other rewards for participation in Fleet battles and 5v5 Arenas that are dolled out at regular times.

In game go to Rankings > Fleet Rankings (or personal, dropdown box 'arenas') to see the FB rewards.

We were able to get into Fleet battles last Saturday, so the entire fleet will be getting rewards next Turn Reset.(720 merit unless we get bumped in rank in which case we'd get 540.)

Arena seasons last 3 months, and each Fleet battle 'Turn' is a month.

TL;DR You get merit from Events and Fleet battles.

You then spend merit on commanders, and if you get duplicate commanders you receive "Qualification points" to upgrade their rank eventually... (1 star to 2, 2 to 3, etc.)

Yes, you can get the event once per day. Which means free permanent premium playing time.
If you had a truly active group, doing the 5v5 and fleet battles and doing the daily winning/games.

The masses have actually been leveling quite nicely recently. a LOT more T4 and 5's but remember, you are dealing with A. 'off peak hours' and B. Christmas time!

The swarms of events they have running load you up with currency(50k a day for two wins in an elite ship.), they've given a mission for premium for the last two weeks or so(win two matches while grouped.).

I have 70k free xp. I want to skip a cruiser or battleship line. What are some lines which are shit at the start but worth playing at the higher tiers?

I'm thinking something like the german cruiser line, where the tier 5 is cool but 2-4 is all shit ships, except I already did the grind there.

Burger BB line was fun. Florida seemed good till you get into Wyoming which makes it seem 'bad'.

Been too long since I did DD lines (But I do not recall disliking the IJN line up to T5.)

Hoshou is somewhat suffering, but a required one to train you (CV's is not a line to skip through for early tiers anyways.)

As for BB's Cannot recall the Kongou, Ise is a lot of fun.

As I said, American line BB was pretty much enjoyable T3-5.
