With both those games, I have a gut feeling they'll be taken by more specific generals. The relative nonspecificity of the games we accept makes cases like that more likely.

I think we have a problem of rarely bringing up topics, or only briefly discussing topics. We don't have the same kind of community as the more devoted generals, and obviously the highly populated generals will kill us regardless.

That's just me assuming shit based on the kind of people I saw interested in that game from people like the Bloodborne and Dark Souls fans so I could be full of shit there but hey.

So, thought you guys might like to know- there's a Kasuga AV. Unfortunately it's only one fourth of the "film, with the actress Tia cosplaying Miku Hatsune, Nami, and Cammy for the other 3/4. Kasuga's also the only decent cosplay among the four of them but the costume itself comes off pretty early in the scene so she's basically just getting fucked in the wig.

I guess you guys like gangbangs and that's what Kasuga's scene is, a bunch of nerds fucking their cosplayer friend, but eh.

That's a very subjective argument, because SW is a lot more shallow from a mechanical standpoint. Hyper attacks can't be comboed, the normal/charge moves are the same as they were 10 years ago, and the ONLY animation canceling method consumes a finite gauge. There's also the lack of musou variety, and the character types with the most potential (special types) almost never have good specials or movesets in general.

SW is definitely better for a super casual player, but DW is way more open with combo possibilities. That's why I still put WO3U in high regard, despite its movesets being very outdated; the mechanics are just a lot more in-depth.

So let's try to spark some discussion around here. After all these installments and changes to characters over the years, are there any changes that made me you feel iffy about?

Mitsunari went from an actually competent dude with an attitude to a passionate yet completely incompetent and with an attitude really tickles me. Like they wanted to make him a tragic figure that everyone loves, but didn't want to make him a Gary Tsu, so they gave him a few flaws but went a little too overboard, and the end result became a mess.

Also Kotaro being loyal to the Hojo. I don't dislike it, but it's still a little weird to see how he acts in 4 because I'm too used to his edgelord version of SW2.

Yeah, there are still plenty of characters around to be added, but the problem is that, like the other anon mentioned, Koei prefer to have more husbando and waifu instead of someone that could actually mean something to the overall story. And then there's the problem of the cast getting too big that Koei won't be adding many more characters with new games.

Well, I finally bought Sphere of Influence on Steam. Just how long is this tutorial? I "played" for like an hour, got to the peoint where I had to siege a castle when my brother showed up and we decided to go and see Star Wars.

Did I miss a lot or can I just start a normal campaign?

I felt that the newest movie was kinda whatever.

The characters were fine, Finn and Poe were a joy to watch, but Rey lacked charisma and Kylo Ren was more annoying than a conflicted yet interesting teen seduced by the dark side he should have been. His character needs more development in the future movies. My biggest complaint about the movie is that it felt very calculated and safe. I mean, it's cool that they're continuing the story of the original trilogy, but it should've been it's own thing and not just a copy & paste from the original Star Wars movie with less interesting characters.

I don't know. At least in case of the prequels the sheer nerd assrage they caused gave them some kind of character. This one just feels like "I watched a movie, whatever".

I'm a bit behind the times so I'm actually still playing DW8CE on steam.
Is it true that the only way to get Red Hare in DW8 besides paying for DLC is to grind out X number of battles in Ambition mode? If so, how many battles is that and what's the best way to go about it?
I switch around characters a lot so the best people I have are around level 40-50 and I feel like I can barely get to 10 battles in a row even on Easy mode because of how much a chore it becomes to kill enemies.

IIRC, you can do 30 battles in a row 3 times, or just straight up do 90 battles in a row.

A few tips:

1. If you are allied with a clan, they can attack your other allies but they can't attack your vassals. If you see an ally attacking another clan and is close to beating it, take the opportunity to make them your vassals if there is one.

2. If you see an ally attack another ally, you can protect that ally by placing three units (it doesn't matter how many troops there are in the units) on the map points of the second ally's castles. Map points have a limit of three units, so your first ally won't be able to attack the second ally's castles while you're there, and will eventually leave.

3. If you see an ally about to finish off a clan, make sure to send some units over there if you can. The reason you should do this is because you can only capture the majority of a clan's officers if you capture the last castle they have. Let your ally conquer most of the other castles and get the last castle for yourself. I once gained 50+ officers this way in the Sekigahara example.

4. Be careful about dissolving alliances as this will make other clans very wary of you, decreasing your ability to do diplomacy.

5. The tutorial doesn't mention it, but it's actually very important that you keep in mind your Conservative/Progressive meter. Every officers has an affinity for either conservative, neutral or progressive policies. The degree to which your clan is rated to be conservative/progressive affects their loyalty towards you. Additionally, you can only use certain policies when you are conservative/progressive enough. You can increase/decrease your political rating by building or not building certain buildings. For example, building a church will make you more progressive.

6. Your total soldier count is calculated from your militia count and troop count. You can increase the first by investing in population or popularity, and the second by building drill grounds/churches.

Some clans like Chokosabe have unique policies that allow them to increase militia count.

7. In combat, skills actually do matter a lot. The most powerful skills are those that decrease enemy ATK or DEF. Skills that buff your own units are usually not too powerful. It's important select officers with high LEA (translates to defense) VAL (translates to atttack) and INT (translates to blockade ability) as the commanders of units and select officers with good skills as the adjutants.

8. Sometimes you might be fighting an enemy together with an ally. Battles are always optional, but if you choose to take control of a battle and your ally is involved in it, you can actually control his unit and let him do all the work for you. This is very useful for when you and your ally are fighting for the same piece of land.

9. Flanking is the best way to victory. Try to let enemies come to you rather than you to them and always try to move units close together instead of far apart. Always try to use ranged combat first and only switch to melee if necessary or if it speeds up the battle. On harder difficulties, enemy units will almost always try to charge your units when they are losing to deal as much damage as possible.

10. Always try to take control of a battle at least briefly, because your unit might commit a surprise attack on an enemy and stun them, which persists even if you leave the battle afterwards. I think they will only do this though if you take control of a battle.
