Can anyone help me with this purple pansies bull

I've read multiple conflicting reports on how to get them but the most consistant i see is get reds from breeding red and blue then breed the new reds together to get purple.

A. How the fuck would the game even tell the dif between regular reds and "mixed" reds
B. Why wouldnt it just be damn blue+red

A. Probably a boolean value in the Red Pansy object named something like "isHybrid". Super simple stuff.
B. That isn't how flower genetics work, unfortunately.

You're heading in the right direction, but not quite there. I've found that the best thing to do is set two flowers waaay off to the side whose only purpose is to create the hybrid reds. Harvest the first hybrid red, and just keep it safe until you get another. Then replace your lonely two flowers with your new fancy hybrid reds, and collect two purples from it. And then, you guessed it, replace those two hybrid reds with your new purples and watch them spew purple flowers out like it's going out of style.

It takes time, but you'll get there before too long. Just be sure to hold onto a breeding pair in your storage in case you lose all of the living purples. You don't want to have to go through this again.

Not sure if this still works, and it's not really very significant, and it requires you being in summer, but it's much faster than farming on the island. I haven't tried it myself yet, I'm just waiting for the palm trees to grow, but it was fount this summer, so I doubt it was patched. The net glitch definitely still works.
