So I bought the PC version of this game. I spent about half an hour to get the controls set up exactly like I wanted due to it not being compatible with the controller I had. Everything seems fine, and then I walk onto the second screen and this.

Did I just buy a shitty version of EPSXE? I just don't even understand anymore. Any of you Anons had this issue with the Steam version of FF7? I'm really at the point of just wanting to emulate it since I know that's fucking easier, but, I put money, an incredibly small amount but principle drives me, towards getting this to work. I had no FF7 synergy for sephiroth (best I had is the XIV dagger for him) and I just didn't use him for retaliate. Threw cloud in with the gold sword and had him retaliate. No advance, just used boost and sephiroth/reno/aerith all hit with double hit/cut. Same thing for +++ but subbed cloud for gilgamesh and used reta/drawfire it was easier than the ++

I have been playing with Cloud in Sm4sh and I realized that I have never played any of the Final Fantasy games, and now I want to get into the series. Which game do I start with? Do I start from the first one and go chronologically?

After that, there's a wealth of FFs that it'd be best to pick and choose and see what seems fun to you.

when the original was one game, yeah it's kind of a big deal. Not only does this stagger the release and bring up concerns about pricing, it's also no assurance that they'll actually finish all the parts. we all know how overly optimistic SE is about their their sales projections

So I'm kind of thinking of undergoing a Final Fantasy challenge type of thing. I want to sit through and play through all the Final Fantasy games one by one. I'm still trying to lay out a few things in my head though.

For example, which version do I play? In the case of FF3, it seems fairly obvious to include both the DS and the NES version as their own separate games due to the differences in mechanics, however, what about a game like FF4? Do I include spin offs? Should I stick with main series and direct sequels only? Is this possible without having to buy any external shit? That's what I was thinking initially to be honest. I'm just curious if there's anything I should add to that. I guess keeping with the flagship titles would be the 'best' thing to do. I just know from personal experiences there are some major differences between versions. Like the NES/PS1 versions of FF1 having spell charges vs the MP system introduced into later games. Also 4DS vs Original 4, etc, etc. I know there would be redundancy in replaying several versions of the same game since there wouldn't be much of a change and I'd get burnt out extremely fast. Hi /ffg/ I am planning on getting FF X.
I played through 44% of X-2 when I was much younger but then stopped because I was getting my shit pushed in by regular enemies (didn't know what I was doing back then, didn't know a lot of english).
But the International version comes with two Sphere Grid configurations. What is the real difference between them, because Standard and Expert aren't doing it for me.
Also, I beated FF6, 7, 12 and 13 as of now, so I'm not a complete idiot about how FF and JRPGs work.
