Just downloaded and started playing last night. I was so surprised at how well it runs and how easy an installation it was.
This is my first time playing WAR, my first character I'm playing is a White Lion. Even though I only made it the rank 4 last night, WL seems like a lot of fun. Any tips for a newbie?

tiers are the division of levels for PvP, each new tiers has a new set of zones with keeps etc... for each faction with the exception of t1.

Also ALWAYS be qued up for scenarios from level 1 onward, good way to level and its fun PvP :^)

As far as order is concerned im not sure how to handle that. Last time we have a guild with about 50 members but when people got bored becuase there was only lvl 20 and t2 cap with 1 zone a lot rerolled order and both guilds died.

Would rather just have 1 /vg/ guild while our pop is low. Order has some OK normie guilds you can join in the meantime.

Not really they can piecemeal together the remnants of the live script pretty easily. Mythic wasn't as smart as blizzard for theft protection on scripts.

That being said the engine they're working with is notoriously touchy, a lot of trouble programming spherical hitbox abilities to work fairly.

their AoE pull works through keep doors atm :^)

Only problem is you need a gaurd and healer to pretty much function at all.

I'm thinking either Witch Hunter, Knight of the Blazing Sun, White Lion, or being a Chosen on the Chaos side cause those all look extremely cool. KotBS seems like a regular tank so does the Chosen but the White Lion also is labeled as somewhat of a tank but has a pet? And Witch Hunter is basically inquisitor mix of both melee and ranged right?

IIRC KotBS and Chosen are mirrors of each other and are based on stacking auras whilst looking fabulous/terrifying.

WL is more of a melee DPS but the pet mechanic makes them kinda pale in comparison to Slayer/Marauder/Chopper. It's kinda fun at T1 though since the lion is basically a cruisemissile you launch at the back row.

WH is your butt standard rogue, they've got a pistol but you'll mostly be poking stuff with your sword.

So we finally have 6 active members destro side after only 1 day.

The leader of the old destro guild is pretty much MIA so we will be reforming destro side. Try to actually come up with some decent names this time in reply to this post. I will put them in a straw poll in the next OP and then we can reform under the name that wins.

I'm running a dps-based runepriest.

So far it's been pretty successful in T2 - smiting all those heretical sorcerers with my lightening runes.

Also, am I the only one who's noticed that you can pick up ALL of the quests to kill enemy players from ALL of the zones in the game at level 1?

Literally levelled up this runepriest from 1 to 19 yesterday afternoon, shits insane.

Here's how you level up insanely fast on Order side (prolly works for Destro too)

>fly to Elf T3 Averlorn
>pick up the 3 quests to kill enemy players there
>join SC's until you've killed 25. You can get it in 1 SC half the time
>accept the quests again and use your money to fly to all of the T3 zones and accept all the quests there
>get 3 levels per SC
>go from 0-T2 in like 2 and a half hours

Chosen and Marauder are the stronger of the three and you really can't go wrong with either.

I would pick Marauder, there are a truckload of Chosen right now and Mara is the strongest melee in T4 and very very viable in T3.

Tons of utility, self heals, very very hard to kill and enough damage to tear through anything cloth or leather

You really can't go wrong picking any of the classes right now.

Since the guild is so small we're not moving towards premades yet and we're reforming the guild in a few days anyways.
As far as "What Destro Needs" I would say talented Mdps and single target RDPS so I would suggest Squig Herder, Marauder or Chosen. IF you want to heal DoK is very very strong in T3 but they fall off sharply in t4 so it's a temporary thing. I suggest Zealot.

Cool remember to fly to the T3 zones and pick up your kill quests there and you'll level quicker and have tons of money.

Fly first to Talabecland and pick up all the quests for kill X players or collect X things from dead players, and grab any quests sending you to another T3 zone to visit a warcamp then queue for Scs

Where the fuck are the T3 kill quests? I read you level fastest when you travel to the t3 area and take the kill quests, but I can't find it.

T3 warcamps, fly to avelorn if you're Order or Talabecland if you're destro for your first set, after turning those in you'll have the silver to fly to all the zones

Order visit High Pass, Avelorn and Blackfire Pass

Another option for leveling steadily if it's slow RvR or you don't want to deal with T1 is to create your character and then just run from settlement to settlement picking up any "Go visit X" quests, which there are lots of and usually just send you forwards to t3 as you go.
You'll end up with a couple of levels under your belt and a lot of money by the time you reach T3 warcamps but the downside is you'll still be renown rank 1 so queue for Scenarios while you do it and get some renown.

As a reminder this game has a Last Name function, you have to go to the capitol city (Altdorf or the Inevitable City) and look for a "Last Name Registrar"

This allows you to get some hilarious names so if you like being clever or silly with your names remember you have another name to use

Friendly bump for Sigmar and a question from a newbie, how exactly does leveling work? I keep seeing talk of tiers and levels.

I'm really not sure how renown works or what it does. Also I'm supposed to walk to T3 but I'm not sure what that means either

Their are three tiers so far, and i don't have the game in front of me, but if you between level 1 to 10 your t1, 10 to 20 that's t2, and so on. I probably have the numbers wrong on those though. It's mainly for PvP and stuff like that.

Tiers are just breakdowns of the leveling process and are there to create a fair fighting plane.
T1 is levels 1-11 and you can only fight other players 1-11 I the t1 fighting grounds and scenarios. If you level out, you turn into a chicken and must go to t2, which is 12-21 and t3 is 22-31>>126089202

I think it's the greatest PvP in any MMO ever. Ever. A lot of people agree, it was just run into the ground by EA and later Bioware

EA forced them to release the game a full year early and it just went downhill from there
