Real talk, the thing that bums me personally out the most about the legions of swordsmen that got added in tr4sh is that Travis now doesn't offer anything that interesting. He has his motorcycle (which Wario already does) and wrestling moves, which would probably be relegated to grabs. Nothing else he does is that enticing for moveset potential unless you had him swap his swords out like in NMH2.

He's the only fast swordsman sword character that can force the opponent to approach (projectile/threat of charging Limit. Link has a sword, but he's slow by design). His aerials are ridiculous. He's a complete upgrade from Shulk, minus his recovery. He's like the Fairy-type of Smash: He makes offstage play viable (I'd call the Jiggs matchup even, and Jiggs is garbage) but just because he sucks at recovering doesn't mean Jiggs is magically top-tier.

His style also divides my roster. The characters I use either have a large advantage against Cloud (because they can beat him offstage) or a large disadvantage (because they can't overcome his mobility, reach, and wall of Blade Beams)

I want a dump of his frame data. I know Marth is a little faster, but where does that leave Shulk? Why do his hitboxes rival Rosaluma's in size? Why can't you punish his gigantic Up-smash? Why do his smashes kill at sub-100% with no rage? Why is he as fast as Charizard? Why is his skinny torso so far back that you can't attack him unless you're in kissing range? Why is his dash attack so big that, when shielded, it stops him outside of grab range?

Yeah the shieldstun feels weird in this game. Like, theres no point to it, its just a slight nuisance, you have to time inputs differently, unlike in 64 and Melee where you could actually use it for pressure.

So, I really need help with Luigi, and it's just that I am pretty damn predictable with him.

Can anybody just list some approaches I can possibly do?

Of course the most obvious one is Fireball > down grab...but I need more ways of approaching.

- Sometimes, I use his side special when they run to me and it works most of the time, but I use it very seldom
- I also run to my opponent, but then stop, jump and down air to catch a roll

Luigi's approach options are shit.
Bad air speed, bad run speed/traction, and none of his aerials are as safe as marios.

That said, nair is pretty safe and sets up for a grab at low percents, spaced bair is very safe but no good followups once it starts doing knockback, and only a few characters can punish landing up air since most of them you can jab an OoS option. SH fair is good, but double fair gets you punished. Maybe fair up air but I haven't tried it myself.

Never dash attack unless you are guaranteed to hit a punish where you can't close the distance to hit anything else. Watch Mr. ConCon in cali for the best luigi play.

Actually, it's closer to 60%. There are specific hardcoded move sets and behaviors, but then those are capable of changing in response to the opponent. It basically picks which of its possible "behavior sets" to use, but it's also capable of learning some crazy stuff in small amounts.
