Sill's status as a decent healer an a decent mage just doesn't suit Rance 03.
You rarely equip more than one skill on a character.

Shizuka can't heal for shit but she's a much better mage than Sill with better attacks (even Sill's normal magic attack has recharge) and Sel can't attack for shit but her whole party healing is much better than Sill just healing the party member with the least health.

And unlike other characters like Kanami and Sioux who are first choice for much of the game, Sill's upgrades are available relatively early.

The number stats in Sengoku only apply to army battles. It's how good they are at commanding their troops to do that action.
The only stat that directly affects the individual commander is the level.
Nobunaga also beat Rance through having a defensive swordstyle that easily countered Rance's hyper-aggressive one and disarmed him. Levels wouldn't actually matter.

Rance's fighting style is all about being hot-headed and fierce.
Nobunaga had level 2 Jiujitsu and level 1 Sword Combat, which combined give him a fantastic defensive style that easily counters Rance.
I do think Rance could've probably beat him if he took more time into thinking, but compared to Rolex, who Rance can beat by just doing his thing, Nobunaga actually was the stronger sword fighter.

I noticed. Problem is that it sometimes causes contradictions like with Miracle, She doesn't fit the criteria given for a fated girl yet she is one. There really isn't that much of a good reason for her to be one as well, the only thing that comes out of it is that her fated weapon which won't find a use in X unless we have humans stage a multidimensional invasion which wouldn't be successful regardless due to the Gods. Said invasion can only happen due to her existence as well, I don't understand the point of creating that plot point if they aren't going to use it.

It helps that all of the houses pretty much have their own self contained plotlines. There isn't actually much major plot-related stuff in Sengoku when you think about it. Xavier gets unsealed, Kentarou becomes a Demon and Sill gets frozen. That's about it.

The Location of the cube never made any sense to begin with. In VI's it's located in the monster territory and yet somehow Rance + fated girl manages to slip past the monster horde to reach there and in the Case of IX it would mean that they managed to travel from Zeth to Helman and back while still making the invasion last 2 months which is complete bullshit

Like in III/03 he didn't liberate Leazas and fight Gele because of Sill.
And in VI he didn't do anything because of Sill.

His sneaky, sketchy asshole qualities all only started to surface after he'd been cockblocked by Rance twice. Though his profile in Quest says he straight up forgot about a girl that Rance had no involvement with, so it's clear that he's always had it in him.
I like how Rance remembers him just from the sheer glee he gets in fucking with him, and how Bird immediately freaks out and tries to run away the second he sees him.
