With the upcoming balance changes she might be equalized to top with everyone else though, since Devcat are just throwing random shit onto her skillset so she's more engaging to play.

Even solo and on aggressive bosses (best case scenario for enhanced counter) Sword Fiona still lagged behind Sword Lann and Evie on kill times. It isn't significant, but that combined with subpar party DPS doesn't add up to top tier.

Hammer still lacks a bit as well, with worse solo times than Sword but better party DPS that isn't on par with top tiers outside of stimmed/trans sandbags.

After the rebalances she's probably up there by virtue of nearly everyone above her getting nerfed.

I don't think it's particularly random, being able to chain into normals is a notable speed increase. Deflection changes make it more spammable and even better for Hammers. Focal not being infinitely spammed is a loss that'll make Longsword more boring though.

Only issue I have with deflect (in that I just don't like it), is if you deflect during butterfly swing you need to do at least two more swings to deflect again, or after you reach the 90 degree mark on a Stima you can't deflect. Which apparently they're changing(?)

You can deflect multiple times within the same smash. There was a video of someone doing L Deflect L Deflect L Deflect all while staying on the same normal. That should fix the Butterfly issue.

You can also double Stigma if you deflect after connection (like Amaranth).

This is going to change how I play, on bosses I'm not too familiar with I'll stick with butterfly swings when I could be getting off stigmas because I can deflect out of it. Now it seems i'll be using stigma far more often now that I won't be punished for it whenever I get it off too late.

eh seal shop I guess is one of the biggest along with level 90 gear now

Both have made gearing up a breeze compared to how it was before.

Seal shop has level 80 rare mats for 22 seals or something now and they also bumped the daily seal limit to 20 a day instead of the old 12

Level 90 gear is easy to make because you piece it together out of relatively common drops but you need to grind to get really good ones

Story quests have been revamped so you don't have to grind for levels till around 80+ as long as you do the side quests as well and once you're 80 you'll probably level just by raiding and other things anyway.

Emergency iframes, but it's mostly irrelevant with the new roll distance buffs. Pretty much everything now falls under easily rolled or needing Shield Charge for extended iframes.

It's situationally useful for breakoffs and KD (Bark warding). Sword is still generally better off saving for Focal spam and Hammer for SH.

I was talking about on release. Nobody had the gear and classes weren't anywhere close to as powerful at that point in time. I only had a +10 70 which was still really good at that point in time.

Of course now people have soloed it, with +15 80s/90s, damage pots, character buffs out the ass, and even S2 nerfs which I'm not sure if NA has yet. But back then people needed to stack everything in order to even get it done within 60 minutes.

Really the outlier is TD for soloable content. Kraken and Bark are shit shows, Ulchas needs you to either have shitloads of DPS or a non-CD locked flinch. The others were doable but stuff like Jug revolved around stalling ceiling phase every 3 minutes, never fucking up solo chains in Lavasat, or hitting insanely tight flinch windows (depending on class, Shield Charge is a total bitch to use for interrupt) on Cromm.

They just stopped scaling gimmicks to party size, which is why it stopped being fun. It's like if you couldn't break Siglint's stone in solo while going back to S1 tiers of damage.

S2 just has really annoying character bias. Jug on Fiona was annoying as shit cause the only way to survive ceiling was to perfectly feather sprint every grab since Shield Dash didn't exist, Bash had too long of a CD and SP cost issues, and Charge was the same.

Post 20-min CD patch, that actually screws over Vella and Evie for flinch required raid solos. Characters without great sandbag DPS can't do Kraken/Bark even post nerf. Stuff like that.

Sword Lann actually never ends up that poorly in terms of that due to very fast F7 flinch and good iframes (and a general lack of charge moves in S2). Only issue would be sandbag DPS but nobody is soloing Kraken or Bark 7080 with 18.5k. Most S2 soloing was already like 60 minute damage potted marathon runs, so not like no deeps mattered as long as your damage values got the kill.

Well,when i charge it for a second or so it doubles its damage,i can do up to 11k on malina raids and my stats suck (especially balance and crit).But i don't know if that time i spend charging could be used to attack normally or something for better dps.

I was meaning more Havan Sandstorm and Jugg's grab mostly. Though with Standing Endurance Enzo's flamethrower just makes you get hit 3 times completely defeating the purpose.

PG has always been better than HS/PHS for stamina efficiency anyways. So it was better to do it when possible. It probably should work with PHS too, but at the same time you need to stretch your stamina further.

I just don't care for ID since the SP cost is too high for how valuable SH is to both weapons on Fiona. For general play you can just eat a death now and then and for solo play you might as well go full autism.

Not like ID existed pre-roll buff which is when it had potential use.

Just play him. Tier lists are all so temporary given that they do character changes every few months. He's going to be top tier with his buff until the rebalance patch (which won't be for a bit). Also even if he's shit tier, you can still do everything with him or you'll just get bored and quit before it matters.

(I can't slot in Hagie cause I didn't follow what version we got. Probably in that 2nd or 3rd tier)

Revamps push TS Vella and Karok into top tier while CB Vella probably gets pushed up as well. No idea how it'll sit after the KR Rebalance. Evie probably cemented as the only top tier, Hurk, Arisha, Lynn, Fiona in the tier below if what I read was accurate.

Spear Lann not really, since sandbags are rare in solo and anything you need to dodge you're weaker than Swords. Scythe Evie needs speed to solo well, and can be pretty hard if you don't have it. Staff is fine too. The main thing is any of those don't actually gain damage from blocking (Hurk, Sword Lann, Fiona, Vella, Karok, etc. all gain DPS in solos), but at least the Evies are strong enough at a base level that they're fine.

Hurk is still just that. You can get into ultimatum cancelling, but base play is still the same.

This game has always had fucking terrible hit detection. Turn on damage numbers and you'll see how many of your attacks that hit the enemy, make a hit sound/crit flash, but do no damage because they were moving slightly away from you.
