I can see this general is dead, but just as a public service announcement I'd like to mention the 3DS port of Terraria.

It's absolute garbage. Don't waste your money.

I picked it up because I like playing portable and had enjoyed Terraria somewhat a few years back. But everything in it feels super lazy and rushed. For one there's no 3D at all. Which won't bother most people, but is a sign of how little work went into the port. Worst is the controls which are way too sloppy and doing everything is awkward.

Not that I'm sure any of you were thinking about getting it, but on the off chance someone was take heed.

I haven't played the mobile version, so I'm not sure. Also hadn't played Terraria in quite a while. It just controls absolutely horribly and the interface is very unintuitive. I've been killed so many times by just slimes and shit because it's so awkward.

The only thing I'm comparing it to is keyboard and mouse though so it may be a little unfair, but I was still disappointed in how little effort they seemed to put into it.

I built a very long line of wooden platforms which served me well against most hardmode bosses and events.
For Moon Lord I just ran a unicorn along the platform and used a vortex beater with cholorphyte bullets. The ammo homes in on his weak points, the unicorn goes so fast most of his hits miss. Put a few heart statues loaded up with one second timers on this strip and you're practically cheating.

Also, most endgame ranger weapons and armour have high chances of not using ammo. Add an ammo box to the mix and you almost have infinite ammo (or if you don't mind using standard ammo, just craft an endless musket pouch or quiver - both give you infinite musket balls and arrows respectively)

You will just heal him with life steal, thats why spectre hood is useless with him. But as for healing, shiny stone does you well with its increase of healing and with the other heal boosting buffs.

As for killing him, use a bow for him, tsunami is my choice, but the phantasm works well, you just need to keep getting hits with it. Chloro arrows are good for damage and ichor arrows to debuff. Acess. should be the sniper scope/ magic quiver, ranger emblem, avengers emblem, wings/shiny stone, worm scarf, master ninja gear/ clestial shell. Switch off to the stone if you need health and use the ufo while doing so (keep in mind you will take fall damage without a featherfalling pot.) The quiver can be used together while the scope is on, but thier buffs are for one damage type so keep them in mind.

Does anyone else prefer to stay in normal mode?
I've 'beaten' hard mode a couple of times, but there's something about living in a nice comfy house in a world that isn't about to be eaten by ugly evil shit and gay pride: the biome

Yeah. I don't really like hardmode. I would have liked it more if it was another dimension you travel to or something like that, but the fact that your world gets fucked and the constant struggle to keep it clean is not cool.
Hardmode also makes hosting survival servers a pain, since new players will have a hard time surviving in hardmode with copper gear. If it was an alternate dimension you travel to, or another planet, then new players could still enjoy normal mode while the more advanced characters would go to that alternate zone and fight tougher monsters.

I like the new ores and items hardmode give you, but most of its features are just there to make you a better fighter and increase survivability against the bosses anyway. For building comfy houses and playing with friends I prefer normal mode.

I wish killing the Moon Lord ended the corruption's spread. If he's the big villain in all this then surely killing him should do something against the aggressive expansion. Going underground only to find most of the world outside of your quarantine areas is now evil or hallow is annoying. The only other option is to go apeshit with the clentimator and hellivators, effectively doing more damage to your world than the infectious biomes could ever hope to do.

Fallout 4 came out. And, you know, ded thred ded gaem. There's not much to talk about, really. If we had some kind of mod support, we could talk about mods.

But the reason why there aren't many mods in the first place is because the game doesn't really need them. The only mod I'd install for Terraria would be one that makes the hardmode corruption spread more sensible/turn it off entirely.

Oh, please. You always find shit you want to install. "The game doesn't need mods" is not a valid argument, since not all the mods have to fix the game. Some mods could add more content to the end game, others could be simple retextures while others could add slavery and rape as side content. What about a companion/follower mod? Vehicles? The game doesn't need them, sure, but it would be damn nice to have those kind of things.

Trees don't grow if they don't have enough vertical and horizontal space. They also won't grow if there's a wall behind the sapling.

The moon lord would be more intimidating if it didn't look like he was miming being stuck in a box all the time.

Use a lot of different materials. Don't make the rooms too large or they will just look empty. Don't be afraid to tear the entire thing down and start over if it turns out like shit.

You can get them pretty quickly if you clentaminate your jungle. It also helps finding chlorophyte and life fruit.
