I've only beaten New Vegas once and that was to get the NCR ending. I was horribly underleveled because most of the quests and locations in New Vegas outside of the main quest don't interest me so I had to turn on god mode after dying to Legate Lanius 40 times in a row thanks to CASM being a fucking piece of shit that saves during combat.

Autism. Also ignores the vast changes FO2 made to the universe. I swear people have the biggest nostalgia goggles with FO2, some of the stuff in there was incredibly dumb. Then Tactics and BoS, which didn't fit the "Fallout universe" depite being made by Interplay themselves. And finally, NV is actually radically different than 1 and 2 for having a branching main quest, the main quests in the first two games were actually fairly linear. It was pretty different thematically. I don't think there really is any unifying theme to any of the Fallout games they're all pretty different in tone and theme.

The more I read that post the more it sees like the author didn't even play Fallout 1 and 2 and just read the wiki or something.

I give them somewhat themed loadouts.

I have Curie run around with only Gauss, 2mm EC's, some grenades and a Ripper.
I have Cait run around with an auto shotgun, shells, molotovs and a baseball bat.
My MacCready uses a hunting rifle and has an auto 10mm as secondary weapon, and a combat knife should he run out of ammo.
Hancock uses a saw-off shotgun, a knife and a tommy gun.
Strong uses an entire arsenal of different weapons including a missile launcher, but he has very little ammo for them and eventually whips people with a sledge.
Piper uses a 10mm with a shock baton as secondary weapon.
Danse uses a Gatling Laser and a laser scattergun.
Nick has a tommy gun and a .44.
X6 has a juiced up Institute rifle and a plasma pistol.

It's fun, really, even though I swear a lot when I have to dose them ammo.

I did it!

I was hoping there'd be something for winning but it was a fun distraction nonetheless.

Grelok was a lot easier to compared to some of the other mini-bosses like the Great Serpent, Snowlord, and Asmodean Crab. But by end-game Grognak with lots of damage gear + Furious Rage + Zaxtar's sleeping spell does an ass-ton of damage.
