Hey anons, here's my shitty theory that ties into the Narrator is Chara thing.

You know those sounds major characters make when their text is being displayed? Mettaton's beeps, sans' "buh", papyrus' scratchy noise?

That literally what they sound like when they talk. A big reason Frisk doesn't react to anything anyone says is because they have no idea what the fuck anyone is saying; Frisk doesn't speak Monsterese.

However, Chara spent a lot of time with the monsters, learned their jibberish, and is translating for Frisk.

I work for a viral marketing firm. One of our departments (not mine) was recently tasked with carrying out a contract from a new client. I was told that the client was very specific about a long term agenda for the game Undertale. Remember that article that came out YEARS ago, "Where Is The Citizen Kane Of Video Games?" Well the sjws/media/industry haven't forgotten about that. And now they think they've found "The Game".

Currently there is an organized agenda to begin conditioning gamers, and eventually the public in general, to accept the narrative that Undertale is "The Citizen Kane Of Video Games" and the go-to "Greatest Game Of All Time" for ALL future polls/lists of games, much like the status that Citizen Kane has for films or Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band has for albums or Watchmen has for comics. They want Undertale to just be UNQUESTIONABLY ASSUMED to be the GOAT with absolutely NO dissenting opinions being allowed to be taken seriously and anyone who suggests it's a BAD game being just flat out laughed at for not accepting the artificially forced narrative.

The goal in a nutshell is to condition us to think that THEIR games (read: sjw/"indie" shit) are just inherently superior to games that are actually enjoyed by actual gamers. That way they can make us unresisting to the creation of an "arthouse culture" in the video game industry where their low selling sjw/"indie" garbage can be guaranteed financing despite not selling on the grounds of "furthering art and "progressive values" in gaming", since obviously there is currently NO financial justification for these "games" to exist.

This is just the beginning. And it's going to get MUCH worse.

Hey /utg/ can you tell me why so many people are so afraid of doing a genocide run?
So they say that they don't have the heart to kill their favorite characters.
That's fine and all but, You may love those characters but, they cant love you back.
They're just a bunch of pixels. The characters don't and can't remember you "killing" them, the game keeps track but,
The characters don't. The game tells you what's going on through the characters like puppeteers controlling their puppets, giving off the illusion that the characters are aware of your actions .
No character's in game "Death" is real, the only way a character can truly die is if you remove them from the game's code entirely.
So doing a genocide run shouldn't intimidate you, at the end of the day it's still game, which means it can be reset through the game's files.
The way that I see it, to truly experience this game you must complete True Pacifist and Genocide runs preferably in that order.

Personally, I can understand why Mettaton left his family and friends behind, but I still can't help but think he's kind of a dick for it. Although, I'm the sort of person that identifies a lot with Alphys and can't help but feel sorry for her for locking up demented monsters in her basement for who knows how long, so what the hell do I know. Lots of people are assholes in real life, but every one of those people has a mother/father, or other family, or friends who know them and many might see good in them.

Mettaton was a dick but he was not completely oblivious to it. He might not have even liked that, but at some point most people think what they're doing is right.

The real difference between someone who genuinley wishes to cause pain for the explicit purpose of pain and someone who accidentally causes pain in the process of something else is there real motivation.

Nobody in Undertale had particularly bad intentions with the debatable exception of Flowey, Asgore and Chara/Frisk.

Even then, Flowey was souless and can't really be held to the same standards as a being with a soul in some ways. He had no capacity for empathy/love etc. so it's not even suprising they'd do horrible things for their own enjoyment.

Asgore willingly set out to kill the humans that fell down, his intention was noble but the acts were anything but. Still he fully understood this was wrong, and whether out of genuine belief or cowardice, he convinced himself that it was the only way to go. Debatable of course though.

Game isn't even really clear 100% what 'Chara' is and if she's even real, the only time she's seen is in the mind of Frisk at certain points and also the player is mistaken for her by Flowey.

Frisk however, can have absolutely negative intentions and desire to cause pain for nothing other than pain. Not only that, but Frisk has a soul no matter which way you look at it, because he's always controlled by the player.

No shit, it's a fucking video game.

That doesn't mean it's wrong to feel attachment to characters you dolt. That's what entertainment media is designed to fucking do, since the dawn of time.

I'm not shotgunning fish oil and using a catfish as an onahole but when I killed Undyne the Undying I felt kinda bad man. As a character she became the hero of her entire race. Hell, if the player hadn't have 'killed' them with the free hit in at first, it's possible she might've been stronger than Sans. The player gets her with a cheap shot and kills her as she desperately holds you off from finishing her.

I agree the full experience is Pacifist and Genocide but that doesn't mean I didn't get genuine feelings of sorrow over the second one. Not enough to dissuade me, but enough to make me think.

I would have probably felt better not killing everyone. It really devalued the world I played through to me no matter how hard I tried to convince myself that it didn't.

Certain things are unique. Changing them more often than not means permanently. I've learned that as of late.
The only dilemma I'd have is Flowey calling me out if I had just watched it, but I think there's a lesson to be learned here, to not to fall for it. You don't actually have to do a thing just because game tells you to, and I'm thinking you're just repeating that as a pre-learned pattern. I know I did.
