I don't speak Jap, but in my own experience (I've been playing for less than a week), NPC ships are retarded. Things like an Anaconda will have lasers only, which require power, but if you knock it's shield out, it'll divert all power to restoring the shield.

You have to stay on it though otherwise it'll get it's shields back up and start firing at you.

That's a problem imo. I parked my Python right above a Coriolis yesterday. I had absolutely no idea how huge the Python is, it hardly seems bigger than an Asp or a Cobra from the inside. Likewise with planets, I never got that "woah" feeling from seeing one up close. Dunno why this is.

They shred hull but it takes a while to chew through shields.

I used to run 2x small beam lasers in the lower two small hardpoints that are really close together and multicannons in the 2 meds and other 2 smalls. Used the beams to bring down shields and then unloaded with the cannons and some supplemental laser fire as available capacitor permits.

How is this in other space game like X series?

Maybe Horizons will fix that a little. The game doesn't really let you get close to most celestial bodies. Also it seems like the FSD cut-out range/hyperspace in point depends on the size of body with the end result that they all kind of look the same size.

I mean if you check the range to the target I guess you can see how big it is. But you don't really feel the size.

In the X series everything's in little pockets a few hundred km across and connected by jumpgates. The planets can be very close but they're basically backgrounds since there's no supercruise. It's pretty funny seeing the chat on the livestream getting pissed of with the guy talking about balancing ships.

Just got this game yesterday and been just trying to get the handle on controls on my thrustmaster, how the game works and how the world works.
There's so much to learn while starting out, it's pretty overwhelming.

I also ran out of fuel in some bumfuckistan, I decided to switch off the life support to suicide.
What could I have done different, besides planning my route better obviously?

Fighting ofcourse sounds like the most fun, but I'm a little worried about my abilities to hit anything with this flight stick. Still need a lot of training to line up the shots, feels like two hands are not enough to control everything.
I guess getting a better ship will give me more time and space to do things, now there is this constant feeling of not having enough time to manage everything.

Started playing yesterday.
Now own an Eagle with an average loadout.
Can someone recommend me if I should stay close to spawn point (currently in Eravate, or something like that).

Was thinking of upgrading to a Viper since I managed to get some 50k+ bounties, but the low jump range is kind of a deterent for me.

Sugestions?
Also, is there and major disadvantages for choosing a faction? Other that a part of the galaxy being a no go?

There's no reason to stay at the spawn systems, most of them are pretty shit, find a system with RES close to a station and farm bounties.

The Viper is actually a great ship for bounty hunting, though if you actually want to actually do some traveling it might be better to keep your Eagle till you can get a Cobra or DBS.

Really the main disadvantage with factions is that they have a grind that separate from the main credit grind. You're either going to be grinding merits for your faction or money, not usually both.
