In bursty matchups your midgame threats are enough to close the game. Where you need Jaraxxus is games that end in resource wars, like Priest and Midrange Paladin. The tough one is Warrior, because their burst is basically one card.

Try out Rafaam. If you have board control, which isn't always that hard as Renolock, you can take the +10/+10 which is pretty substantial. Have Brann out? Pick two options and go for broke. Like anything in Hearthstone, none of that is guaranteed, but I've been enjoying Rafaam in Renolock.

Naxx gets you the best secret (avenge) , mad scientists, haunted creepers, ooze, chow, loatheb and belcher.

Loe grabs you Keeper of Uldaman, jeweled scarab, huge toad (if playing with reno) and Reno.

For the amount of paladin playable cards, you probably want to get naxx to start. especially to play midrange pally

If you don't mind me playing devil's advocate: I think the main problem with hearthstone in particular, with laddering specifically, is just the sheer number of games one must play to reach legend. Sure you can play a really strong deck all the way there, but at what point does it become boring and tedious? How many games doing roughly the same sorts of moves and seeing the opponent do the same sorts of moves before you get bored and fatigued? 5 games? 10 games? 20 games? 50 games?

I agree that scrubs should get fucked though. Just making a point that there's a difference between "playing to win" and "playing to have fun" and pointing out the tediousness and repetitiveness of the climb to legend, the very definition of a "grind".

Every 3 days do dailies. Do tavern brawl once a week for the free pack. I would recommend using cash for getting adventures. You first decent deck will be a aggro/mid range hunter/pally/rogue do to low dust investment. It will take about 4 months to build a decent library of core commons and rares.

I'll tell you the same hting I tell other new players. But don't take it the wrong way.
Legendaries don't win many games. Not on their own at least. The best ones are very situational, and when you get rekt by them, it's simply because they were used at the best (or a good) time.

Anyhow, don't worry about Legendaries. Just remember why, and more importantly 'when', they hammered you. As that will help you make the best use of them.

Google 'hidden quests hearthstone'. You'll find there's a shitload of gold to be earned here.

Play ranked if you want. You won't lose out by constantly losing. You'll learn what decks people are playing to climb, and (Through here and the internet) how to deal with those decks.

If you're shit at arena (like I am) then buy packs with your gold. There's no shame in it. I've only bought the adventures, I haven't paid for a single pack with money and have quite a substantial collection. All from playing my dailies (and wins) and getting packs with the gold.

Forget Mill Druid, it's just a fucking rock solid card for Druids period.

Never pick minion unless you absolutely positively have to (like if you were forced to Raven Idol a buff spell earlier and you need something to drop it on, stat), always pick spell. Even if you need a minion several druid spells can produce minions (and I mean permanent minions, the druid spells are just leaps and bounds stronger than the possibly of getting booby-prized with shitty generics or beast-synergy cards.

I only started playing a few months ago, but I can tell you for sure that there are quite a few shit-tier legendaries (lol Millhouse Manastorm), but many of them can be considered "core". After crafting Dr. Boom and opening a Sylvannas and putting both into my Druid Ramp deck, my win percentage went from some 53% across 80 games with it to 59% currently across 150 games. Tons of games are won by forcing the enemy player to tiptoe around a Sylvannas or just getting insane value off of Dr. Boom, and while I don't own a Dragon Priest deck I can tell you that Dragon Priest would definitely be leaps and bounds worse without it, probably "unplayable in ranked" tier.

Not every legend is blowout tier, but saying "don't worry about legendaries" is just lying to yourself and doing you a disservice. The key is to do your research and learn what legendaries are must-haves and core, and not to get all excited about some dumb Avianna combo deck and blow all your dust out on her.

Real question. The deck is Ramp druid: I'm pretty sure it's correct to always TRY and mulligan it out of your hand in search of ramp or a real minion/spell, right?

While it's possible that I mulligan out of it into an unplayable card, the odds of that are lower than mulliganing into gas that doesn't need to be tutored up first. Currently I treat it kind of weirdly: I never want to intentionally keep it in my hand, but on the other hand if I end up hard mulliganing into both of them I'm not overly unhappy.

Also, what do you think of the people who say to only play a single Darnassas Aspirant?

Shit, those are all good. I'd go with Frostwolf for reliability, though. You'll pretty much never feel bad with it due to your hero power, while Spellbreaker can sometimes be "stuck" in your hand without a good target and you might not draft any buffs for Dragonkin Sorcerer.

In mill I actually mulligan it out of my hand, unless I have exceptional removal already in hand, since the goal of the deck is survival.

I would imagine you absolutely would want to play the same way in ramp. Mulligan it if your hand is shit, keep it other wise. Obviously those early game wild growths and aspriants are the core of the deck. I think it would be foolish to keep raven idol in favor of the cards your deck is built around.

However if you start with some ramp, keeping the card can easily help you control the early game board, or boost the ramp even further. The flexability it can provide is the reason it should be in the deck or hand, not as something you relay on.

I think you have this game mistaken with another anon. VALUE wins games in hearthstone, above all else. Skill in hearthstone is merely counting to 30 and trading properly, but value is the biggest thing you can incorporate to increase the consistency of your deck. The right legendaries bring levels of value to a deck that no other card can. Sure some are shit, but those key ones are guarenteed to increase your win rate just by existing. Dr boom, tirion, sylvannas, ysera... etc, all bring very unique abilities and value to decks they get played in that absolutely wins games for the person playing it. Sure it might not be every game, but it's significant enough to warrent the need for them.

If you really don't see that, just look at Reno and brann. Two cards that have completely altered the meta more than anything else in the xpac.

It would be interesting if you could do a raid fight where you equip the boss with various armor you needed to blacksmith, tailor, leatherwork, the rings and whole nine. The main tank has to wear it into the fight or Rafaam becomes too powerful.

Heroic is you can't use the armor.

Mythic is a huge multiplier based on the armor the MT uses so it is basically always hard no matter how advanced your gear gets.

Inspire could have been cooler if the minion lost -1/-1 per inspire but a successful inspire gave it immune to spells. I know its kind of a silly idea though. Just my problem with it was always it is a virtual +2mana tax because anything can die in one turn in this game, at least help it be preserved a few turns so interesting/crazy combos can be invented with inspire cards.
