From what I remember, they tried to bait a shot from guardian earlier in the round with a shoulder peek, but he didn't fire.

So they might've thought the following
a) that nobody was there
b) a rifle was holding the corner/under balcony, so jumping means it's a bitch to get the kill straight away, so either he doesn't die or teammates get a refrag

less whiffing because the game let you climb the skill ladder until you could control the gun almost perfectly in tapping/bursting/spray. there was little guess work. watch any csgo pro match and you constantly see 'the world's best' whiff what in 1.6 would have been guaranteed kills.

you get an enormous amount of xp from comp when you finally start playing that, even if you aren't too good at the game

also once you get better its pretty easy to get xp from the other game modes, I get around 150-200 xp without bonus xp per deathmatch game by getting 50-80 kills

finally how xp in this game works is that every rank takes the same xp to get, you get quadruple bonus xp for a set amount of xp per week, then double bonus for a set amount, then normal xp, then reduced xp

every tuesday night the bonuses reset
